Hi Maxwelfish
35.gif

Welcome to Pricescope. That is a lovely ring. mrssalvo, thanks for posting my ring!!!

I think the ovel is such a pretty shape and all the rings are beautiful! The only thing is- the bow tie. I know there is nothing that canbe done about it but it would bug the carp out of me

MMM,
I searched high and low for my sidestones because I didn''t want them to have a bow tie. But maybe in larger stones that is more difficult, I just don''t know.

What does that mean, a bowtie?

(I think) this is a picture of a bowtie effect.

Here''s another shot.
Bowties are not necessarily a bad thing. You just have to decide if you can live with it.

Here's what GOG says about bowties

Every fancy shape except for your squares and trillion cuts have what's called the "bow-tie" effect. Because the pavilion angles around the fancies vary, this produces a "bowtie" effect in marquises, pears, ovals, and hearts. How noticeable the bowtie is depends on how deep or how shallow the pavilion is cut on that stone. All these shapes have bowties to some degree. Some are more faint and some are more noticeable, but if the bowtie turns you off don't get these shapes!

The bowtie doesn''t bother me at all. And mine is more "silver" than black, and doesn''t show unless you tilt the ring, actually looking for it.
