My oval & half moon engagment ring!

Well, I got engaged back in September and went right into full blown wedding planning.
We are currently working on our wedding bands and the jewelry search again reminded me that I never posted a picture of the final product. So 7 months late, here is the pic...

The pricescope forums were such a HUGE help to us when we were looking at engagement rings. Can''t say thanks enough to everyone on these boards. After much research we had a local jewelry custom make the ring.
FYI: The ring is a 1.5 ct oval center with 0.55 in half moons. F color, VS2, platinum setting.
I totally LOVE it.

Better than I ever could have imagined when we were planning it all out.

Hm... how about an eternity (or half eternity) with ova shaped diamonds ? There aren''t too many of those around, but this is not a bad thing, IMO

Here are some more pictures of my e-ring...

Currently I am talking about getting a diamond eternity band for the wedding band. It won't fit flush against my e-ring....actually nothing does, but we both don't care for the "matched" look anyway.

My fiance and I have looked at several eternity bands and have decided that between 0.10 and 0.15 point diamonds look best. We saw an eternity band with 0.07 diamonds and it was just to small next to my e-ring's wider band. We saw a 7 stone band with 0.13 point stones and it looked great so that is pretty much what I am aiming for, but in an eternity band. The reason I am going for the eternity band is because in the winter my rings get looser and spin too much. With a 7 stone ring I would constantly be fixing my ring so the stones were on top. If that wasn't an issue I would save the $$ and go for the 7 stone ring in a heartbeat. Since my finger is so small (3.5), a 7 stone ring looks like an eternity band anyway...you don't even see the sides.

That is actually the same reason why we love my e-ring. All the design is on the top and the side stones are very close. Every e-ring I tried on that had diamonds or designs (like tacori) down the band, when the band would have been sized to a 3.5, half the design was lost. When my fiance picked out this e-ring I was so happy...it was perfect for me.

My fiance was thinking along similar lines....he thought about designing something that incorporated half moons and ovals just like the e-ring...but I talked him out of it. I wanted something that was simple and classic.

We also looked at possibly doing an oval eternity band, however my concern is that it might be too much on my hand since my finger size is only 3.5. I have only seen one online, so it is hard to tell if it would actually look ok.
