Please rate ASET. Should I pay attention to ASET or HCA?

Hi all. What do you think of this ASET? I thought there was supposed to be more green and such. I know red is good, but I feel like its "too" red. Do cameras and such lead to a great deal of variability? Also, this scores over a 4 on the HCA, which concerns me. Should I pay more attention to the ASET, or to the HCA? I know ideally they should both be good, but if the ASET is good, can you ignore the HCA? Or should you never ignore the HCA?

Can you get an idealscope image?

I'm not sure. Can you explain why I should get one vs. an ASET?

ASET images vary quite a bit depending on how it’s taken so they’re difficult to compare between vendors (so are Idealscope images by the way) but what that one tells me is that overhead light return is excellent with good contrast. The symmetry is very good to excellent (there some things that may be photographic artifacts or may be in the stone).

Overall that image doesn’t worry me.
What are the original specs that you put into the HCA and where did you get the data?

We usually use aset for fancy cuts and idealscopes for rounds. For me, they are easier to see the leakage in.

Here is the info:

Depth %: 62.6
Table %: 57
Crown Angle: 35.5
Pavilion Angle: 41

It was given to me by the dealer, and the person who took the ASET.

Did this data come from a lab exam, a Sarin scan, or something else?

GIA report I'm 99% sure.

It matters. GIA is good. Actually most labs are pretty good about this but there are some other measurement methods that aren't nearly as accurate. If the GIA is more recent than 2006, their assigned cut grade is a better way of distilling their data than the HCA anyway. Start there. Can I assume that this got 'excellent and what you're trying to do is choose the MOST excellent'?

I assume the person who took that ASET is the seller. What did they have to say about it?

Yes the stone is graded as EXCELLENT by GIA. I am not looking to buy this stone quite yet, I am merely looking to learn. I was just wondering about the ASET, and why it did not jive with the HCA. Assuming the seller speaks highly of the diamond, would it be a wise purchase assuming the price is reasonable? In other words, should the HCA be ignored in light of the GIA rating and the ASET?

Who is the seller? Usually a green center indicates a PA of less than 40.8. What is the girdle thickness?

I don't know girdle thickness, sorry. I don't feel like asking for the report and everything since I am not buying this particular stone and just trying to learn. They were kind enough to share this information casually and I don't want to pry! Thanks for the help. I'll admit I am still a bit lost regarding HCA vs. ASET. Seems like ASET/cut are a better bet, I guess.
