I found a setting I fell in love with and with out doing much research I purchased this diamond on blue nile I have not received the diamond yet. Can someone please tell me if this is a good diamond?

If you had asked for help before you ordered, we would have steered you to GIA Excellent cut only, and then we would have helped you select one of the better ones from that very broad category. I'd cancel the order on a very good cut stone, personally, and start over. It is hard buying a stone without any pictures or an idealscope image to show if there is leakage in the stone, but if you do buy blind, I'd always recommend choosing a stone that has numbers that fall in the ideal cut range to have the best chance of getting a nice stone.

That stone is too deep and has a thick girdle and faces up smaller than it should. It is almost a carat and should have a diameter of at least 6.3-6.4mm. It will look more like a stone in the .80's.

At least Blue Nile has a generous return policy although you would be out the shipping cost. I second returning the diamond and starting over with assistance from the seasoned posters here.
