Over the past few months I feel like I've learned enough to know what I want out of my diamond and what vendors I'd be purchasing from. This site has been an enormous help. So thanks to all who put in your time. Ive come to down to deciding between a diamond and basically a vendor.

Here is the diamond...

I've heard nothing but great things about whiteflash and their ACA line, but I can't say enough about the service I've received from GOG during my search. Matt from GOG, has been fantastic, and has been working to find the stone that best suits what I'm looking for. I'm leaning towards leaving my fate in the hands of GOG.

I'm looking for any thoughts on this diamond, and if putting my faith in a dealer is a good idea. Thanks in advance!

Need more information.

What is your budget, what do you want and what do you have that you are looking at from GOG?

Budget for the diamond alone is 6K give or take a few hundred. I'm looking for 1.1-1.2 RB, I-J color, SI1-SI2 that's eyeclean, with an ideal cut. My goal is to optimize cut by sacrificing color and clariy.

GOG has a couple 1.2 j SI1 coming in that according to the supplier, are eye clean and have great visual performance.

I guess what I'm wondering is if GOG's diamonds and CS are worth holding out for.

It depends on your priorities.

And the great upgrade policies are nothing to sneeze at either.

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9596/ This would be my top choice if I wanted something traditional and classic (round) but still unique: if you are going to by from GOG then I'd seriously consider one of their top proprietary cuts. AGS0, round, but I guarantee no one else is going to have anything like it. Just lovely. Also has a wonderful upgrade policy.

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11378/ This would be my choice if I wanted to maximize size and light return. Also has great upgrade policies. It's .4mm larger than the AVR, which is definitely noticeable.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.30-carat-j-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-261928 And this one if budget and size and cut were my top concern, and I didn't give a hoot about upgrades (they have a 2x policy for upgrades). .6mm larger than the AVR and a great size.

I looked at all the other vendors I would shop at... and these would be my top choices.

Re: Need help choosing

Thanks for the input! I really like the look of the GOG 1.2. So are these diamonds ones you would select over the ACA I have reserved?

Yes.

The stone is a J and doesn't face up huge or have any special faceting. So... yup.

Thank for the input and suggestions. Much appreciated.
