Hi there
Well I'm upgrading my engagement ring and have done quite a bit of research and really like the style of the Harry winston cushion pave
I am hoping to replicate the ring (few alterations want ring sitting low ) but am so overwhelmed with the advice from differbet topics and be so grateful to get some personal advice
Basically I am hoping to have a square 1carat G vs1/2 cushion centre stone in halo pave setting
I have seen loads of pics and settings and just worry about it not tuning out perfect
Firstly I am in Australia so if I source a stone or have a setting done from USA I obviously can't try on and be there for the process
I have spoken with two stores in Australia GS diamond Sydney and CTJ on Gold Coast Qld who have both sourced some diamonds with these requirements for around 4k which then leaves me with approx 2k for setting as I want to try and stick with 6-6500k budget

I have also emailed mark from ERD and he says he can make this ring for $6500
My biggest dilemma is the setting
What pave am I looking for? Please see attached pics and would like to know exactly what to say so I get it right! I like the Steven kirsch setting and have emailed but don't know if out of budget?
Much appreciated I'm such a novice and learning as I go

Ok. We can help.

It's more than just the pave style.

The pave style is a V-cut pave. It's a style of french cut pave. What is is NOT is bright cut pave.

There are two methods of fabrication for a harry winston style halo. ERD does both methods. One is the handforged method, and that is the most expensive. It is also the 'best' method. Usually 5000-6500 (as you found out).

The second method of fabrication is CAD and CAST. That one is less expensive. Usually 2500-4500.

This is the thread you should study.

Platinum is the best metal for pave period. If you want to understand why, please read my posts here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/which-online-retailer-for-a-custom-setting.203660/

Thank you for advice!
Do you think I would be able to source a setting or really needs to be custom made?
And suggestions for best place to get setting and stone?
Thank you so much

If you are looking for this setting to be under 2.5k then many companies make a HW style halo. All with all have slightly different variations. You would just need to to go jewelry stores to check them out. IDJ carries Gabriel and co who have a few that are close.
