Really appreciate help on this ring.
I was actually looking for 2ct ctr ring of eye clean SI or VS when I got an offer for this ring which happened to be between the same price range with my budget. According to GIA graded gemologist I am taking it for check to, It is:
4.01 carat
D-F color (could be F by GIA, since it is white)
will be approximately I1 or by worse I2 if according to GIA standard, the seller say that EGL will sure grade it as SI2 (anyway here is the photo, you can zoom it and see lots of small inclusions)
very good cut, polish, symmetry.
table 60%
depth 60%
not enhanced
No certificate.

As you might see, everything great except clarity.
Anyway, I just want to know opinion from everyone whether:

1) is this still a pretty stone to consider for?
(being diamond, even if an I it still does sparkle and look great on some photos and it is a 60-60). look great inside the room/house, but look mediocre under the sun.

2) how much would you think I should pay for this? because the seller told me it could sell over 20k, sell to me considerably less.

3) will something like this difficult to sell in future(I do not intend to sell it but just in case), just want to know if something like this is desirable or not.

4) is it eye clean or not? I am a shortsighted and perfectionist, but my husband and children cant see anything (but we all know nothing about diamond  )

The seller actually give an excellent service and return warranty and lifetime upgrade option.
So I am free to consider if I want to change it to my original plan of having SI1-2 or even VS, but it is just that the seller think this will be better deal because they are the same price. So that I posted here before I make any grave mistake.

Again, any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you. :D

I see the inclusions in the photos very easily and they would bug me tremendously were I wearing the ring. I have excellent eyesight so I would have to give it a pass. Though nearly everyone experiences DSS (diamond shrinkage syndrome), I would prefer a truly eye clean 2 ct to a heavily included 4 ct any day of the week. But you may feel differently, and that's all that counts. Good luck!

Wouldn't buy it at any price, and especially since it isn't graded. And I wouldn't buy I1 in a 4 ct stone or any stone for an engagement ring. I'd far rather have a 2 ct GIA graded VS2 stone or even SI1.

Stick to GIA graded stones only (or AGS as well if you are looking at ideal cut rounds).

I agree with everyone else. I remember once browsing a mall jewellery store, and tried on a 4-ct stone for fun that was I1 or I2... it looked like it had been splattered with mud!! It's definitely not worth it...

I think ultimately you would feel much more proud to own (and show off) a clean 2-ct than a visibly and heavily included 4-ct! There's something to be said about quality over quantity in this case...

I agree with everyone else. I would much rather have a clean 2ct any day. I can easily see the inclusions in that stone and that would drive me bonkers! Good luck whatever your choice may be.

Not eye clean, not GIA/AGS certified... not a chance.

Keep in mind that going to a GIA graduate gemologist is not the same thing as actually submitting the stone to GIA for certification. Also be careful when the seller says 'I can sell this for over 20k, but for you I'll sell it for much less'. As much as I want to believe people are inherently good, I doubt the seller is giving you a discount out of the goodness of his heart.

There is a reason they didn't send it off to GIA. If they had a certificate and it was a decent diamond it would cost more... No cert, no consideration... Don't let them take advantage of you!

I'll argue both sides:
Against buying it: There's no such thing as a "GIA graded gemologist"- hopefully the person you're dealing with is above board- but be clear- there's no connection to GIA whatsoever.
This calls into question all the grading and cut info.
I also agree that there's a big risk buying without a proper report. For one thing, to make sure there's been no treatment to the stone.

In favor of buying it: Although it's never a good idea for a consumer to purchase with the intent of re-selling, large high color stones that are low priced due to imperfection can be desirable to some people- and this may include you. Imperfections that might bother a person with better eyes ( or younger ones) may not bother someone with a bit more....miles on the odometer:)
If that's the case, I'd insist on having your seller send it into GIA.
If it does come back F/I1- there's a market for it.
