Hi,

I was told that if I created another thread asking for help here that people with a keen eye for fancy shaped diamonds would possibly help assist me in finding a perfect diamond for my girlfriend! Below are what I am looking for, but really I just want it to look big and shiny/sparkly without being able to see and very noticeable defects. I've been using these charts (http://www.lumeradiamonds.com/diamond-education/oval-diamond) to find everything in the "Excellent" category.

But other than that I am looking for...

1.3+ carat
Oval
F or better color
Eye clean
Preferably 1.4-1.5 L/W ratio
< $10,000

If it helps she also wants a thin band gold or rose gold (I like rose gold look better, but either is good) with micro pave half way around.

Any help or advice/places to look would be much appreciated!!!

As stated in my other post I found the attached and thought it looked pretty good, but got scared away considering it would be from Jared and it sounded like I could get a better value online.20170619_162918.jpg 20170619_163203.jpg 20170619_162912.jpg

And it's under budget! What a beautiful oval. I was obsessed with them for quite sometime but now I'm on an EC kick. Good luck! :)

I know it's not 1.3 but REAL close. Just keep looking anywhere you can.

We dont tend to go by the numbers too much when looking at fancy cuts but if you're not sure what to look for they are a good guideline to start with.
(they may tend to knock out nice stones while also including not so nice stones).

I'll go check a few other sites and get back with you

Thank you guys all so much! Just to be clear all of these pictures are 10x magnification correct? Is there a way to tell if it's "eye clean"? Also @ac117 with the diamond you posted to me it looks like there's a little scratch almost looks like a hair at about 1 o'clock of the table, but I don't see it on the GIA report. Could this be a reflection? I just learned that things that you may be able to see might not actually be where you see them; they are just reflections and therefore are not on the report. I had no idea!

Also that site with the fingers looks very interesting and I was wondering where that is (the color scheme makes me think it's on JA but I can't seem to find it.) Another question and I apologize if these are all questions I should be looking for answers elsewhere, but would a larger table and shallower depth make the diamond appear bigger? Logically it seems to make sense, but does it sacrifice anything such as sparkle/shininess/fire (not sure what the correct word is)?

It's tough to tell - could be a needle or reflection. You could ask JA to inspect further. Regardless, this stone would definitely be eye clean. The video is actually at 20x magnification....zoom out all the way to see what the size of the stone is (or even halfway) and the mark disappears.

We're not allowed to link the site that the finger image comes from...however, try googling diamond on finger comparison and see what comes up....

A larger table and shallower depth will make the stone look larger but it could also make the stone look glassy and flat...stones like this usually have lower crown angles as well so it will be at the expense of fire/colored light return but are usually bright with white light return. I prefer a smaller table and higher crown, personally.

Thank you again I feel like I'm learning so many things every day lol. I was able to find the comparison... Is there a way to find the crown angle or is there a calculation I can do to find it based of off the report?

That stone that ac117 posted is also a lovely stone...I did not go that high on budget or low on color...A "G" should still be nice and white and the price is just
a little over your budget. I dont know whats up with that inclusion??? I imagine it is eye-clean (unless you have super hawk eyes) but double check with
JA. I just wonder why the inclusion isnt showing up on the plot. I went to the GIA website and brought it up and didnt see anything either. Maybe it is
a reflection but to me it looks like its right there on the edge of the table...I dont think its a big deal...just curious to where the line (twinning wisp?) is coming
from.
