Was this a decent value for a purchase from JamesAllen

it is absolutely STUNNING!!! i just had to go to the link for the setting to see if they did a video on it and there is, WOW! I am not a huge fan of princess cuts but this is just gorgeous, i think i've been converted :lol-2:. She is going to love it :))

Absolutely gorgeous. The slender band really does show the diamond off beautifully.

Beautiful ring! She is a lucky girl! Please come back with hand shots :)
Thank you!! Will definitely post another update with hand shot soon!

Also thanks to the last few posts with kind words, not going to spam this post with individual replies but you guys made me feel very good about my purchase and i will be posting an update with a hand shot as soon as i can!

Absolutely gorgeous!

Gorgeous, well done, great choice.

As farrahlyn pointed out, JA posted my ring on the recently purchased pictures from the setting I selected. This is prob a better photo than the ones I uploaded.

Wahoo! It is GREAT

YES!! Now get us them hand shots. (Please)

Hand shots coming after this weekend!

I do have an unrelated question. How exactly does 4 tiny prongs hold a stone in place securely? Also when I go to the link (https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...pave-crown-diamond-engagement-ring-item-53091) for the setting and look at other shaped stones with this setting and even the other princess cut (mine is the first one), it seems like the prongs actually go over the top of the stone, however, on mine it seems like they barely cover any top portion of the stone. Being so new to all of this, and this being a large purchase for me, it's kind of giving me anxiety that the stone will randomly fall out! I do have it insured through JM already but would definitely rather have it be secure than deal with a loss and replacement. Can any of you more experienced people give me any feedback on this or am i just being anxious for no reason??

Congrats on the new ring and all the best with the proposal!

TXD...you've got great prongs. I think whoever worked on your ring was a more experienced bench than the other
setters. Your corners look very secure. One word...Insurance. We dont hear about people losing stones very often but it does happen.
(its more often they lose the whole ring). Buy insurance to cover the loss of the ring and or stone.

Edit...I guess I didnt finish reading your whole post (hey, I have kids, kids interrupt)...looks like you
have the insurance thing covered. Whenever your GF hits her ring on anything she needs to use
her fingernail and tap on the stone to make sure she doesnt see any movement. It would also be
good to get a loupe so that you can look at the prongs upclose and make sure they are still secure.
(plus its just fun to look at your stone up close...well, for us diamond weirdos :)) it is).

I got this from james Allen, and I already have it insured through JM, I'm sure I'm just being overly anxious as that is my nature but just wanted some feed back from the experts here, you guys are all great with everything here!

By "whoever" I meant one of the benches that works for JA. They have multiple benches and some are better than others. I think you
got one of the more experienced benches at JA. My setting is also from JA and I have tiny claw prongs (which I requested)...I think I
got a good bench too because my claw prongs look great. I am very please with my setting. You can go look at the sold rings at JA
and see that some of the prongs are quite big and some are what I call blob-y for lack of a better term.

Good luck this weekend!!! Post hand pics when you get them!!!

FYI...my claw prongs

I had a local jeweler set my OEC and I ended up with blob-y prongs:oops:. First and last stone I'll probably
have him set.
FYI - blob-y uneven prongs
