Hi everyone. I've narrowed my search down to two diamonds I like, using various online guides. There's 10% price difference ($500) between them, and the premium gives a slightly better depth % (62.5 instead of 60.2) and is VS1 instead of SI1 (though VG instead of excellent on the symmetry). Other than this they're very similar. Which do you think is the best choice overall?

Thanks!

#1 has a cavity, so that is a no for me.

#2 has clouds as grade setting which can be problematic. Clouds can scatter light within the crystal making it look "cloudy". I would ask the BN gemologist to review this for any impact from the cloud.

This is a bit more of sure thing, but a bit smaller. Great angles and at VVS, none of the grade-setting characteristics are problematic.

#2 has clouds as grade setting which can be problemmatic.

Thanks - that's really helpful. Thanks for the link too.

It might be slightly arbitrary, but I'd like to keep my minimum carat as 0.9, so I'll have another search.

It came down to budget for a G color. If you are open to a H, you may open some options.

Hi, thanks - yes, from what I've read, an H colour would be ok.

This is the best one I can find. Great color/clarity. Nothing visible. Nice angles.I would put this on hold before it disappears -- if your budget can tolerate this amount.

This drops color to I, which saves you some money but may or may not work depending on the color sensitivity of the wearer.

What setting are you looking at? What information did she share with you about her preference for the setting?

Thanks - I'll take a look. really appreciate your time doing a search.

Likely to be a 4 or 6 prong setting I think....I'm running blind (I havent asked her ring preferences!).

This is always a lovely setting.

This style will make the center stone look larger, because of the narrowing of the shank at the top.

This has a pretty side view, but I'd ask them to set the stone as low as possible in the setting.

Pave is very in.
