Please help identify setting for future ACA stone :)

Hi all!
My DS will be purchasing an ACA for his gf in a few weeks. We have been in contact with WF regarding settings but have been unable to find a setting just like the one they saw locally (~hour away) when checking out HoF stones for color tolerances.
We would like to keep it all in house at WF for convenience as DS is very busy and has little interest in designing a ring!
Does anyone recognize this setting? She likes the infinity band but with closed loops. It will be in platinum.

Thinking about this more, I think it was JA that had the setting. But I've also talked with WF and if you shoot them the link they can replicate the JA ring so it's all in-house. It would be a custom without the hassles of a custom if he likes it as-is. Price from JA was fair too. Another option would be to just buy the setting from JA and have it shipped to WF for mounting.

Hi @sledge Thank you so much for the links. I also love the idea of just asking WF replicate it. Having JA ship it over is a great option too! Thanks again!
No luck finding one through somewhere like Stuller? Their site isn't very user friendly, that's for sure! But I've had Stuller rings and I do like the quality. Good luck to you as well!! I'm off to read what you decided! :mrgreen2:

Omgoodness, thank you. That's beautiful, it may be a little above his budget as I've been trying to encourage him to put more money toward the ACA. And I think his stone will be a tad larger, maybe 7.2-7.3mm, but I'll have DS reach out. Thanks again @SimoneDi !! :kiss2:

Glad to help! I will look at some of the other vendors. A friend of mine got engaged with a braided shank e-ring, so we looked at a bunch back when she was shopping. Not to steer away from the ACA, but if he purchases a stone from VC, he gets a 10% break on the setting..

Your help is much appreciated! We will look into the upgrade policy at VC. I do believe he is enticed by the upgrade policy at WF. She's the first of many young ladies to be engaged in her large family and he may want to upgrade for color or size eventually, to keep up with the "Jones'!" :lol-2:

As someone who has upgraded 3 times, I totally get it :D Here is the policy: https://www.victorcanera.com/service/platinum-upgrade
The upgrade policy seems to be identical, but I will say that WF always has larger inventory.
 
Something to keep in mind, when I was talking with WF they told me that I could go to each vendor's website and if I found something to let them know and they could get it for me.

That said, I started looking at a few different vendors they have listed on their page and there are quite a few more selections with twists. Verragio has some very pretty ones but are a little more ornate than I prefer. Still gorgeous. Also, Simon G has some interesting stuff.

@sledge That's quite a list. I'm working my way through them and will do so again with DS. So appreciate your help and hope to find something there. I read your threads, what have you decided to do? Use DK? I love him, and have used him myself quite a few times, but I was trying to make this easy for my son. We may just have to do that or ask WF for custom or ordering one in! Again, thank you!

Don't drive yourself too bonkers looking through that list. I just quickly browsed those vendors and copied/pasted links. If I were you I'd have your son sit down with you and look at the each designer's website to see what catches your eye. Both sites I looked at had MSRP pricing to help kind of guide you. I suspect that pricing would be a little better through a dealer/supplier like WF but at least it gives you a rough guideline.

Honestly, if you like the simplicity of the JA band I first quoted, I'd just order that and get it shipped to WF for mounting. It wasn't very expensive -- around $1100 for platinum, and IMO very pretty. My girl was hard to pick for, or she most likely would have ended up with that one.

Here is one I really liked but my girl didn't -- she said it was too dainty and thin.

In regards to the question about my setting, I posted an update today. I got quotes back from BGD & DK. I think I am going to move forward with DK and have them replicate the Jared ring (pics on 2nd page of the "Take 2" thread). Just been wondering if I should go ahead and use a soli to propose and include her on the design, or just work directly with DK and propose with the final product. It's not too bad of a lead time, about 35 days.
 
@sledge I read your update and think DK is the way to go if you decide not to go with a solitaire. He really is great to work with and his workmanship is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your finished product.

I'm not sure if it would suit, but I love this braided shank. It could be easily modified for a round. GreenLake Jewelry made this, but I'm sure DK could interpret it if you prefer to work with him.

Who thought the setting would be harder then the stone?
But then again, I've convinced him an ACA is the best, so that's easy!

I actually agree with you that the setting is harder! It's pretty easy to choose a diamond when you're going for the best quality! My poor AVR has been in a temporary setting for 5 years! :lol: But at least I can wear it, I guess!
