Platinum/WG setting with gold claws?

Hi all,

My girlfriend was looking at some rings on pinterest/Instagram earlier in the evening and saw some plat/wg settings with gold claws (the part that goes over the diamond) anyone know where I can find more images of this? I'm not even sure what to search. Any help would be appreciated.

This is something you can request when ordering the setting. Look for two tone settings with yellow gold prongs/head/basket.

You might also find some examples in this "yellow gold" thread. At a quick glance, I saw a couple that appear two-toned.

Generally that is done when the yellow head will enhance the color of the stone, such as with a yellow diamond to make it appear more yellow. Sometimes a ruby center stone is set with yellow prongs (head). But with most other stones, white metal is more invisible and shows off the stone better.

Those wanting yellow gold rings can have them all yellow gold except have the head be in white metal.
