can someone help me with a quick photo shop? Nothing fancy... just want to see these bezels taken off. Thanks!

So I almost bought this ring a year ago. It seems much more balanced with side stones than mine currently. And it is almost EXACT measurements of my center stone which is crazy. Off by .2mm. Hoping I can get close with my current side stones.

This is not very clean but hopefully at least gives you an idea -- I could also make the side stones a little bigger to get rid of the bezel, but in this edit I used "skin" basically to just remove the bezels, so you can see how it'd sit without them.

If you want it edited differently, let me know. In this one, I (obviously) only removed the bezels from the direct side stone.

I also color corrected it a little bit.

Anytime -- and this actually gives me an idea. I wonder how successful a "Do you need Photoshop?" thread might be... there must be a few of us on this forum that would be glad to do all these sorts of things in one thread.... hmm..

And no worries! FWIW, I like the bezels. :)

Can you by any chance do the third/ last photo? I’m really starting to worry my traps will look dinky without the bezel, thank you!
 
I hate to say this @Emeraldsaremyfavorite - I was worried that the proportions would be off/disappointing if you removed the bezels so I voted on your other thread to keep your gorgeous ring as-is. To me, the Photoshop confirms this. Just an opinion from a novice.

But do what makes your heart sing! =)2

@Emeraldsaremyfavorite, so far I'm the outlier but I love the ring without the bezels, I think it makes your center stone pop and it's just a look that I prefer...that said, you sound like you're having major second thoughts so I'm thinking you should keep the ring as is. You've been wearing it for a while and I think your eyes have gotten used to the bezels being there. It is an amazing and gorgeous ring either way! :love:
 
@Emeraldsaremyfavorite Here is the third pic edited. Have you considered just thinning out the bezels a little versus removing them entirely? The second pic below kinda shows how that might look, if helpful. :wavey:

And, here is a sample with slightly bigger side stones and no bezels just in case you wanted to see it, since @the_mother_thing beat me to the edit! :D

Obviously we are all talking minute differences here, but it is completely up to you. Also for what it's worth, usually I'm the first to dislike a bezel but I actually do like it with your design. And it's certainly more protective of those stones, if nothing else.

FWIW, I like without the bezel. Makes the center stone shine a little more IMO. :cool2:
 
Oh gosh guys, I was all set to remove the bezels and now I just don’t know! I can’t believe I am STILL agonizing over this setting! I spent so much time searching for the right stone, then the setting and now I’m just disappointed and don’t know how to fix this. Bottom line, the bezels bug me, they are a bit over powering. But now that I have seen the traps without the bezels, they are surprisingly small. I wonder if the photoshop can be deceiving and perhaps the prongs wound add some size to the traps once completed?

I wish I could just start over :Up_to_something2: and I payed more for Mark which is really depressing!

Thank you all so much for your help, such a mess I have created for myself.
 
The prongs might change the look, too. If you have any idea for prongs, that can be photoshopped too. I assume you'd just want standard prong on each corner of your sidestones?

Might not be exact but could give you an idea.

This is actually REALLY helpful as I’m not sure I even like the bigger traps and no bezel! What is going on!! The YouTube video I attached definitely has small side stones but looks beautifulo_O

I had a 3 stone before and the prongs were just smaller than the main stone so I assume I would go that route. Quite honestly, wish I would have gone for two side ECs from the beginning and made this very simple. But now have to go from here!
 
I'll get to doing this tomorrow morning if nobody else beats me to it.

Oh my goodness, sorry about your flood! That is no fun and can happen so easily, good luck with the cleanup. No rush at all. Hoping that the prongs will add a little bit of depth to the design and give me the desired size. Also, a good friend of mine with TONS of knowledge made a good point. The bezels right now are covering a tiny bit of the traps so taking them off will show a little bit more of the size. For what it’s worth. And thank you again so much!
 
I agree with @junebug17 and @sledge. My eyes prefer the non bezelled traps. To my eyes if you remove the bezels, the traps will look more proportional (back up singers if you will :lol:) to your center. Really make it pop! Now my eyes are drawn right to those bezels. You really can’t blame Mark, he was following your instructions. It’s beautiful no matter what! Good luck!

You want your lovely EC to be the star, but you don't want the sides to be insignificant, yes??

Thing is, for the EC (center) to really POP, the sides are going to need to be small-ish... just think about what is more important to you. Is it gonna be the "overall look" by having a "large and in charge" ring (i.e. larger traps/bezels/etc), or do you want it to be "all about the EC" (i.e. smaller sides)?

EXACTLY. You can’t have it both ways. And FWIW, the sides are not small. They are just smaller than the center. And the need to look smaller for your center to look bigger.

This looks gorgeous!!! The side stones will look beautiful and in proportion to the center. Definitely not too small
