ETA: Though I just read some juicy gossip about the Screenwriter she married after two broken engagements to other men & only knowing this dude for a few months --- folks are saying he''s a sociopath, gave an ex-fiance a FAKE ring (claiming it was 8 carats & imported from Switzerland) ... that he''s con-artist etc. YIKES. Hope it''s not true!

Ann, funny you should mention JB Star--there is a setting I saved from their site today, but again, too much like The Brick. Oh well, at least I'm *consistent* in my taste!

as for the rings, I like the one I posted in IGs smtr thread.... I love how it accentuates the sparkle on its own!

DeeJay, my personal preference with large stones is to skip the halo with a split shank, especially if you want it to look different than your other ring. Either way it will be gorgeous! I''ve compiled a bunch of pics from my pic folder. Hopefully you''ll find elements here and there that you like.

OK, I''m joining Harriet in the ''dense department'' regarding split crowns vs. split shanks. That last picture Deco posted...is that a ''split crown''???

This is what I''m thinking...am I right? A "SS" splits around the finger and the basket sits on top...joining the shank at the culet level of the centerstone.

A "SC" is when the shank curves up, splits and meets the centerstone basket at the girdle level.

Is this it? So is the Pokey Special a split shank??

(Anyway, DJ I LOVE THIS PROJECT!! I''ve been hankering for a rose-gold pave ring ring for a while, and all these yummiy pictures makes it worse! What fun!)
