That they are. But they''re so darn beautiful. Given the economy, I wonder if some will emerge from the woodworks.

I think it''s worth waiting because of the economy. They are beautiful, but I don''t want to have to sell my first born child to get one - LOL!!

I don''t even have a first born to sell. Not that I''d do it.

Thanks so much, you have really educated me! Before I found this forum I knew next to nothing about gems.
I would love to own some glowing rocks, but will wait for the economy to pick up again.
Where would be the best place to look for the good quality stuff?

I just found this thread and I am DROOLING.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/paraiba-tourmaline-fetish-went-a-bit-overboard.109252/

The first ring is amazing, inclusions and all. The way it glows in the third picture... WOW!!!
I need to find out where I can get something like that. I don't mind if it's under 1ct, as long as it glows like that!

Thank you!

Unfortunately all of these were bought years ago. I don''t think I''ve bought a Paraiba for several years now and as TL has mentioned, great neon gems are harder to find.

Have you looked at this website? www.paraibainternational.com I haven''t bought from them but their prices are definitely priced according to neon/clarity etc - so you''ll get what you pay for.

The stone below is my 2 ct plus Mozambique copper bearing stone cut by Gene Flanigan which I purchased nearly 3 years ago. I have been unable to photograph it because it messes with my camera''s focus.

LovingDiamonds, I am so jealous. If I had your collection I would be such a happy girl.

Which I''m sure you are.

I''m looking at paraibainternational.com now. Some of them look pretty good. I wonder how much the pictures have been edited...

Chrono that is gorgeous! I want to swim in it.
