oh thank you so much! we''re actually downriver, that factory is on west jefferson at king. we looked FOREVER for a photographer at a million different sites through a million different searchers and hers actually came up on a fluke when i was looking for someone else in particular - it was a little buried! but yeah, definitely put her on your list for when you''re ready!

Cool! Not the factory I was thinking of, but definitely has the "D" vibe to it, as do your pics! I''d love to get married downtown, so her style just seems to "fit." Thanks for posting these!

i wanted to get married downtown sooo badly (i go to wayne and just love being down there) but we couldn''t find a reception venue that was in our price range

so we''re headed north to pontiac.

and our photographer loves shooting downtown haha. if you go through her blog there are quite a few from belle isle, mexicantown, the old train station, etc. she''s actually from tecumseh, go figure

but she''s a downtown girl at heart too.

Too funny! I''ve already looked through oh, about EVERY pic on her site!

Really, downtown was too pricey? I haven''t checked out pricing yet, and I don''t know what our budget will be (haven''t had "the talk" with parents), but that''s most definitely my dream. We are thinking New Year''s Eve next year....probably will make it even pricier. Darn. Especially since that Book Cadillac just opened! *sigh* A girl can dream.

Maybe you could do a between ceremony and reception trip downtown for pics? Just a thought.

My SO goes to UDM law (on E. Jefferson by RenCen) and we, too, LOVE the city. It''s so "us."

i wish we could! but our reception is immediately following the ceremony and there''s just no time

especially since it will be totally dark out by then!

we looked at the masonic, the ren cen (a few places in it), the rattlesnake club, the roostertail, belle isle casino, the antheneum, and a couple others including the royal oak music theater (albeit not the right downtown!) and they were all too pricey, but we''re on a pretty tight budget. i hope that you''ll be able to afford it!

and the book cadillac would be pretty amazing for sure

True enough!

I love all the places you mention (although I did attend an event at Roostertail and was not impressed), and also Fox Theater and Detroit Opera House. We will see....it''s probably more fun right now since we''re NOT engaged to dream then it will be when I get my reality check on budget and my (probably huge - thank you Irish Catholic families) guest list!

Anyway, always good to chat with a fellow Detroit-lover! Detroit needs more of them!

ooh, the opera house! i forgot that one! it was actually pretty reasonably priced, but you have to bring everything in so the rental fees were a lot

That''s exciting to know they are fairly inexpensive but yeah, I can see rentals adding up REALLY fast.

My guest list will DEFINITELY be under 200 (about 70% of which is aunts, uncles and first cousins) and Im actually hoping to get it even smaller, maybe 175?

Hey mimzy!! I hear you on the feeling awkward in front of a camera, and I ALWAYS see myself in pictures and think how unphotogenic I am and remind myself of WHY I usually do the picture taking...

BUT I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS!!! And I think that you are absolutely GORGEOUS in all of them.

I think of all of them, #5 and #7 would be my absolute favorites for an official "engagement photo." I tend to like the casual route too. This photographer and the places you went, especially the laundromat, seem to suit your photo style very well and make your pics look even better and you guys more at home in them. Of the casual ones, I like #16 and #18 - and the shoe shoutout.

PS And for the most artsy worthy of a frame on a wall, I vote #9 - so beautiful! Taking your glasses off totally changed the whole feel - more from fun to sultry.

Oh wait, and I like #19 - so intimate!!

GAH ok so I like them all... haha I can only hope mine come out this well if we get to do them and that I can find a photographer we like (that doesn''t break the bank). Congratulations again!!

haha thanks strawberries! you''re too nice! we were really happy that we were able to go to the places we were... we had been plotting for these way before we ever got engaged! thanks for the votes on your favorites too, we''re trying to decide which ones to buy and frame for the reception (but then again we still haven''t seen the other proofs!)

) and i was referring to Veronica and Logan from Veronica Mars (best show ever). It was only on for three seasons but it stefan and i were completely obsessed with it! i can''t find the picture that i''m thinking of in my head, but just a little taste for you

somehowcollide aw thanks! and just in the past there are NEVER any pictures that i look halfway decent in...either some part of my body is weird looking or i'm making a really awkward looking face. i wanted to post pictures from my bridal shower, but there weren't any that i wasn't totally embarrassed of

. i 100% credit our photographer!

miracles thank you! i'm glad you like them. that blue dress with the red accessories is one of my favorite outfits and i honestly look for excuses to wear it (except earlier that day the earrings that i wear with that outfit broke!

we finally got the rest of the images and we were actually a little bit bummed at the amount of images she processed - it was about 20-30 less than other engagement sessions she did. but we're trying not to be greedy! the ones she posted on the blog were definitely the best, with the exception of this one FANTASTIC one of stefan.

I just looked at the link you posted above and I bet I know which one you''re talking about that is fantastic - is it the one with your back facing the camera and he''s eyeing the camera? That is a GREAT photo. Haha all of the photos are great!! I love your photographer''s style. Haha bet you do too!!

i know they have! taking VM off the air was criminal. and YES that's the one! all i can say is that i better have a desk in a very public place when i get a job so that i can display that picture.
