Opinions on CADs for Gladys/Dixie!

Hello lovely pricescopers!

I need your help!

Two different CADs are in for my 4ct OEC from JbEG and I'd like your opinions.

Both are divine but I honestly can't decide between the two. My criteria is that the ring needs to be solid but delicate and I want my wedding band to sit flush with the setting. I like both but for different reasons.

I worry about the bob-cathedral option tilting. Is that a reasonable concern? But it is slightly more fluid in it's execution and I love that the rosebud is totally uninterrupted.

The other option is more like SB's Venice and I always loved her first setting.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted at the moment. HELP!!

I visually like no.1 the best but you will probably get a mixed bag as everyone has different taste....

I prefer the first one - #1 had the diamond appearing as tho it is floating. I like that effect! So I vote cathedral.

Thanks arkie and Enerchi. My post should have read "non" cathedral (stupid autocorrect!).

I think the cathedral option looks a little more solid. I want to wear her everyday. Is it stupid to worry about the head breaking off at some point? It still seems solid.... I like the flow of the basket and gallery on option 2...

I like them both, but am drawn more to option 1. I think both are gorgeous and you can't go wrong either way! Helpful, huh.

I like #1 *in general* but I don't love that little gap on the band where there is no diamond. Is there a graceful way to add one there so the gap goes away?

This is going to be an amazing ring. In this carat size I vote for the cathedral. What a great project!!!

Dee*jay - I am going to ask about the gap. Not sure what can be done but it doesn't hurt to ask!

So the best suggestion for filling the diamond gap was putting pave on the shank, which I really didn't want.







So we have decided to keep the shank plain and just live with the gap. Unfortunately that's the only place the shank meets the head and the jeweller was worried about the join being weakened by putting pave on the spot where the two join... I'm not entirely sure how a full pave shank and just one diamond would differ in terms of strength... But anyway. Decision has been made and fingers crossed the ring will be ready soon!!

Misskittycat, I think you made the right call...I just went back and looked at the CAD and that little space doesn't bother me at all - this is going to be such a gorgeous ring, I cannot wait to see it!
