Opinions Needed on Setting of my EC

706155

I am not the best one hand photographer, this is the setting that DK/ Amy created for me. I too am enamored with halo's, sapphires, emeralds, they're all beautiful.

In my experience, DK has had better pricing and communication along with equal quality to CvB, although I would consider her forte to be more delicate settings. He was faster too.

I tried on this 6 CT yellow, unusual-cut diamond with an emerald halo at an antique show and fell in love with this look, so I vote for that!

@Starfacet OMG. I’m dead! That’s absolutely stunning!!! I love the way the halo is cut (proportions) not too heavy. Wow. If I could just buy it already made. I hate, absolutely hate having rings made. I’ll def reach out to him and see what he says. Thanks so much! Love that ring!

DK did do that!! And I do believe it would be much less than CvB. It is gorgeous but, yes, in my experience all of my blue sapphire rings (and I love blue sapphires) go dark in certain lighting. Bothers the heck out of me.
Here are more pics. I do not have have one just the gallery. I can’t link my thread...Post #50

I'd be happy to give you the vendor's contact info if you want to trade in your EC for hers!

This one she does in rubies, emerald or sapphire. That price includes a rose cut diamond. She'll work with your own stone.

Thank you! I just looked at her things on Insta. I’ll reach out. Thank you so much.

I guess I'm biased and this is shocking coming from someone who haloes everything but I happen to think that large ECs look their best not haloed. Is there any way you would consider a setting without a halo?

I'll have to ponder that. There are so many diamonds and gemstones, shapes and cuts. Pricescope has exposed me to so many amazing designs. Then there's the Jewelers and their creations. The Art Deco period is a favorite of mine, many designs utilize halos, the use of colored gemstones and filigree hand work.
There are people that prefer the simplistic clean lines for solitaires or even three stone rings. When I look at these rings, I picture the added touch of halos and design that includes other period embellishments. Probably not what you were looking to hear from me.

Catmom my center stone isn't large compared to a number I have seen on this site. I'd love to see your EC, how did you set it? This site is my guilty pleasure, I love see everyone's special treasures.

I do love Art Deco and have always been drawn to them. My heart literally flutters when I see Art Deco halos or unique designs. Lol. So a definite no to plain. Would consider a 3 stone w longer type traps but I think I’m leaning towards the sapphire halo. Thank you so much. I want to hear as many opinions as possible. You never know. If I saw something that I loved - I can be swayed. I ever thought I’d entertain a emerald halo until I saw that and this one....A7C91031-D218-4BFF-83E4-A6BF34D72E56.jpeg

Thanks again for sincity! She answered me and gave me a price. MUCH less than CVB and hers are hand forged and I guess sent to some workbench in Europe - so it’s a 3 month wait :lol-2: Lol. She was the one that owned the emerald halo that Knox bought from her. I showed her this one for pricing and w baguettes in plat. Ps. Her quote was $2800 for shorter cut sapphires like the example I posted and $3300 for the longer ones. In case anyone would be interested in a similar halo she believes that her bench made that last darker green halo too. That one is my favorite w that shape.

She is very reasonable for the quality. I have a ring her bench made and it's beautiful quality. It's exceptionally well made. I have stuff her bench made plus stuff she's found and sold.

That's stunning, love that color of green. I am constantly reviewing Lang Antiques, then there's the Pinterest posts of Art Deco, Edwardian, then there's the Victorian daisy designs that have tiny pops of sapphire or emerald. The design that was part of the 15th Pricescope offering with the sapphires surrounding a center stone is a perfect example, it's wonderful. Yep, down the rabbit hole I go.

Wow, I'm amazed the band could bend that much. How long did it take to bend like that?

The alternative settings are all very pretty. I look forward to seeing your new ring!

Hi @minniezhang I had it for almost a year and my husband ha see it to me and noticed it was all bent. It may have happened before that and I had not noticed. I take off my jewelry before bed and showers and workouts. So not sure how it happened but he had noticed. That’s why I’m so worried about keeping it in that one.

@Emeraldcutlover I would reccomend reaching out to Maytal Hannah as well, her forged work is TDF. My shank is relatively dainty, and the ring is super sturdy. If you aare resetting and spending more money its worth looking at all options!

Thanks so much @LinSF I’ll look at her site also. Did you do a halo or Art Deco type?
