Opinion on this setting?

Hello friends,
I saw this setting on the Schubach website as earrings, but was thinking something similar would be nice as a pendant for Edwina, with the chain to pass through. I like the five prongs, but the fleur-de-lis isn’t as important here and could be replaced with a different flower motif. Something about this seems right somehow. From the front it reminds me of a Tudor rose.

They currently have no “available chat” on their site “please try again later” so before I get my hopes up too much, I thought I’d ask your opinion.

Pretty setting. I like it. I think it could be made to be a necklace. If not, what would the budget be?

I ask because the CvB Dahlia setting, as a pendant, comes to mind. I think you could ask for a more floral basket but the front is very floral.

Let me look around a little more. I have seen others too.

I think looking into creating a five petal/prong dahlia sounds pretty intriguing.

Probably totally out in left field - and super rough to boot
But here's two five prong mock ups.
(Love the Tudor rose inspiration !)

Oh, I like the last one a lot! That could be super pretty.

But there's no reason at all the Schubach earrings you posted can't be modified to a pendant.
It's lovely as is.
Key would be how it's attached / slid on to chain, and how to keep it from being top heavy as possible - to prevent flipping.

Thanks so much for those amazing CGI images @Rfisher !!

I contacted Schubach and Jenn was very nice and suggested platinum which would be great. I think most pricescopers would find the estimate quite reasonable, but alas it’s out of reach for me at $1k without a chain. Certainly it would be worth that, given the custom CAD etc they would do, so no complaints here. It is gorgeous! That five-prong design is amazing.

I will keep looking. And I’ll post ideas here :-)

How about this?

In platinum the price is listed at $107 but I’m aware that doesn’t include stone setting or shipping etc.

I cropped out the ‘donut’ base from this Stuller setting but the original can be seen at this link: https://loveaffairdiamonds.jewelers...onType=recommendation&recommendationId=117229

I asked Jen at Schubach for more photos before I decide what to do. I’m afraid that any ‘temporary’ setting will become permanent, so I’m hemming-and-hawing.

Pretty

I like it but not sold on it. Do you happen to have real life photos?

No, I sure don’t. They said they’d have to redo the mold and make CADs in order to make the base wider so that it wouldn’t flip.

In other news, I am indecisive as usual.

I saw these and felt inspired. I think they have just the right combination of antique style and powerful presence for the office.
But they’re $7000.

I love this idea, but are you sure that there will be enough room to slide the chain thru or are you planning to add a bale?

:eek2: $7,000?! At that price they should make you breakfast in bed!
Lol! For a month!

Do you think David Klass would be able to recreate this as a pendant with a small bale? I’d wear it on a black silver chain layered with my JPie necklace.

Probably, though would you want the diamond foiled? Those earrings look like the diamonds are collet set, then placed inside another setting. You could always consult with him, ask for a CAD, then decide if it’s close enough to the original for your tastes.

(JPie necklace? :D So glad you’re enjoying it!)
