And while we're on the topic, lovesvintage I really hope you don't mind the slight threadjack - is it possible to have girdle chips like the one in LV's stone polished out?
I have my eye on an OEC also with a small girdle chip, but wasn't sure if purchasing it would be a bad decision....

depends on the size of the chip vs the size of the stone and how thin the girdle is.
This one has is a very tiny chip.
polishing it out isn''t worth it as long as its in a protected setting and for a pendant.
So the answer is it depends.

I'm not sure if I would bezel it as I've just made an OEC bezel pendant..

So you think it is not worth it to polish out? The stone is ~1ct..

wouldnt touch it without a expert in person opinion by a skilled appraiser or cutter.

That''s another pretty stone, AG. I wish there were better photos of the chip, it''s really hard to see with the baguettes there.

What a lovely stone! I agree with the others that this would be beautiful in a bezel pendant. The chip won''t show and will be well-protected. The bezel will also give the stone some umph. I have a bezel pendant that is .43 and it looks very respectable on and I just love it!!

I was wondering about that, ebay has a lot of OEC's now and then, and they're just great except for a tiny chip usually--- would these be ok in a full bezel pendent?? It's not like I'd be bashing it against concrete or anything!! Any thoughts people??

The one arjunajane posted looks like it may have a chip that extends into the pavilion which is a much bigger issue.

SB, I have plenty of sellers and stones book marked, without chips. If you care to start a thread, I''d be happy to help
