Hey everyone - So it's about time to purchase a diamond and after some research I'm hoping to see I'm on the right track with the ones I have found. I prefer BlueNile due to experience with them and Discover cash-back helps, but not 100% set yet.
Preferences:
I am looking for a 1.7 + ct round diamond, cut to ideal proportions, without any visible inclusions to the unaided eye, that looks white, and is under $13,000. The diamond will be set in 14k white gold, as that is her preference. I've made sure any diamond I look at is under 2.0 on the HCA scale (as these samples are below).
BlueNile sample
Price: $12,167
Ct: 1.77
Cut: Ideal
Color: I
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 62.3
Table: 57
Crown: 35.5
Pav: 40.6
Fl: Strong Blue
B2C Jewels sample
Price: $12,195
Ct: 1.70
Cut: Ideal
Color: I
Clarity: VS2
Depth: 61.0
Table: 58
Crown: N/A (emailing)
Pav: N/A (emailing)
Fl: None
So what do you guys think? There are others with slightly higher clarity grades that I may end up purchasing but I would expect VS2 to be eye clean anyway? Is there anything else I should keep in mind when finishing my search? I'm hoping an I color grade will still look nice and white. Thanks so much for the advice! Much appreciated
