Hello all,

After seeing a truly inspiring ring, I want one of my own! I'm looking for an old European cut diamond in color U-V (or around that area). It seems as though it's harder to find them in that color range. I'm hoping for an 8mm table or thereabouts and flexible regarding the clarity depending on where imperfections are etc.... where do you look for your diamonds, especially ones like the one I've described. Thanks so much for any help provided!

8mm diameter or 8mm table (which suggests a ~14/15mm diameter if the table is around 45%)?
What is your budget? What sort of pattern do you like in OECs?
Places to look for stones are Jewels by Grace, Love Affair Diamonds, Parks Fine Group (IG and Etsy), Ivy and Rose Vintage (Etsy and their own website). Already set/vintage jewellery Lang’s Antiques, Verma Estate Jewels (Etsy), SinCity Finds, Victor Barbone, Single Stone - a bunch of the sites bookmarked in the Antique sub-forum would probably be helpful.

Yes to all the vendors @foxinsox listed and here's a link to the thread that lists many of the vendors who deal with antique/old cut diamonds.

You should also reach out to Adam at Old World Diamonds as he has a huge variety of wonderful old cut diamonds and if you call him with your specifics he might be able to find your dream stone. I suggest calling over emailing.

Fun project and cannot wait to see what dream stone/ring you find...good luck!

@missy and @foxinsox gave excellent suggestions on where to search.

Old World Diamonds probably has the largest inventory of them all by far. Adam is very easy to work with too. Fun project!

Ditto to what everyone else said above. Please come back and share pics of your new sparkly!

I second Alex at Parks Fine Group. He’s on Instagram. I’d send him a message. I’ve worked with him on a few projects, and I have one in the works right now.

Thank you all so much! I'm glad I have many options to choose from and I'm ok with taking the time necessary to find what I need. I've discovered I have a lot to learn as well so I hope you all dont mind if I pepper you with questions from time to time. Might I add that I've discovered the pre loved forum (gasp) and now I'm desperately hoping I dont blow my budget before i find my diamond (unless my dream ring happens to come up for sale). I am looking forward to looking at all of your lovely sparklies and learning from everyone.
