Marcy,
I''m glad you feel better. I''m still thinking of a gem game for us to play.
Oh boy! A new game.

Great minds think alike. My mind is blank too.

It must be the drugs I''m on. LOL. I only have 3 days of them left.

Does this mean there''ll be a Marcy game on Friday?

Being that I am starting a new job it may be a little while- how is New York in the Fall?

Very nice. I can''t wait to meet you two!

Hi Harriet. How are you doing? So what fun gem craft can we do for Easter?

Hi, hi!

How are Marty and you?

How about finding egg-shaped gems?

Harriet I really enjoy reading your posts and think of you as a real ''New Yorker'' who has ties to Australia. Therefore as an Australian who is about to experience New York for the first time I''d love to get your recs for places to eat and see in your fabulous city.

BTW I loved the av you used to have of Sydney Uni with (I recall correctly) the Jacaranda blossom. Do they have Jacarandas in the States?

Hi softly softly,
Thanks for your kind words. I''d be happy to make suggestions. What do you like to do? What type of food do you like to eat? Unfortunately, I haven''t seen a jacaranda here.

Hi Harriet. We are great today. We were out in the big blizzard in Colorado yesterday but turned around and got a hotel room where we stayed until this morning. Our house looked great when we got home. How are you doing? I will dig through my gem dish looking for something egg shaped. Like an Easter Egg hunt. Fun!

Blizzard?! It''s almost April. Don''t you love fresh snow? I don''t have my gemmies with me, but will look for egg-shaped ones online.

I''m a little down because I''ve had to contemplate mortality this week, but I''ll bounce back. I will live well.

We get most of our snow storms from mid March to mid May. I will look for egg-shaped stones online.

Sorry to hear you are a little down this week. When we were in the funeral home picking out caskets for Marty''s grandma a few weeks ago I sure had a major rush with facing our mortality. Awful, isn''t it? I know you will bounce back though - and definitely live well.

Harriet, yes May. We''ve had snow in to June before and sometimes it starts in August. YUCK!

Great egg! I found a few ovals that were egg like but kept looking for eggs. I even tried to find some cool faberge eggs but then got distracted with other chores. I will go back and find some of the ovals I liked. Briolettes are kind of egg-like too.

Take care.

YUCK!

I love the miniature Faberge eggs. Sigh.

You take good care of yourself too.

Oh, Marcy. Isn''t the Sancy lovely? I''m off to dig.

Yes. I love going through the diamonds on that page. They are gorgeous.

I''ve been recommended two books on the historical diamonds -- one by Edwin Streeter and one by Ian Balfour.

I will have to look for them. I have a few gemstones books with lots of pretty pictures.

I know someone who cuts replicas of the famous diamonds and he let me handle them. It was a treat.

Wow, that sounds fun. One of the jewelry stores I go to in Colorado has replicas in a display case. They are fun to look at.

My favourite is the Tiffany Yellow. What about you?

Hi Harriet,

I can''t believe that it is already April but I am working on plans for my trip to NYC next week. It will be the kids first trip (that they will remember, anyway) and we have a pretty busy schedule. I''m not sure if I am going to be able to get away for some jewelry shopping but I am still working on it! If I can make it happen, I would love to look at some OECs and OMCs to see what I like. There are not many to see in my neck of the woods. I''m in the research stage and it sure would be fun to look. I have read lots of good things here about Mark at ERD. I''m guessing there might be some others as well? What do you think?

We arrive on Wednesday and are there until Sunday. Are you available for looking at some pretties if I can do it? How''s your schedule?

Hi Gayletmom,

My apologies for the late reply. I''m afraid I won''t be in town till May (I''m in Miami for the rest of this month). We won''t get to meet, this time at least. Bah. Let me know if you need anymore recommendations for things to do. I''ll have a think about who can show you great OECs and OMCs. Bummer -- I would have gone shopping with you.

No worries, Harriet-we''ll shop next time I''m in your neck of the woods. For some reason, I suspected that you were out of town. I hope that you are enjoying Miami.

If you are game to play travel agent, I would love to bounce a few things off of you. Here''s the plan:
-Arrive Wed about 3-4 in midtown. See a show Wed night. Maybe dinner at the Japanese place you suggested or BBQ.
-Thursday morning is a Circle Line tour and ds wants to see the military ship and aircraft at SS Seaport. Lunch somewhere nearby? Not sure about the afternoon.
-Friday morning is open (maybe Natural History Museum?)and then I take my dd to the American Girl Place for a birthday lunch. After lunch, I''m thinking about the Natural History Museum or the Empire State Bldg. but I have to check the map first, my geography is bad and I don''t want to be heading across town in Friday traffic.
-The other thing I want to fit in somewhere is Rockefeller Ctr (the deck up top) and Central Park (not all day, just a couple of hrs).

What do you think? I''d like to arrange the Nat Hist Museum, the Empire State Bldg, and Central Park somewhere in there- Thurs afternoon, Friday before or after lunch, or Saturday. Any thoughts? I also want to hit a couple of sweet shops along the way and not overdo the scheduling.

Other possibilities are dinner in Little Italy or somewhere interesting (any suggestions for online restaurant research?). I haven''t exactly been on top of the cuisine which is not at all like me-usually I am all about the eating!

I hope this isn''t too much info. I''ll appreciate any suggestions you might have. It''s great to have a local in the loop!
