@missy I can’t believe the PT worked Greg’s leg this hard so soon after surgery..I hope Greg will tell him when he comes again.
@Tekate When are you getting your ring. I have one in that size and it’s one of my very favorites. I tried to find it on the website but I didn’t see it..Darn..When do you get it?
edited * We were posting at the same tine..What an adorable photo...Two cuties! What will she call you Kate? Jackson calls me Nonna. TBH I wasn’t crazy about that name but now when he calls me that I love it..
@Jimmianne When is your new ring coming? My daisy cluster ring is from France. I bought it from a dealer in England..but she said it was worn as an engagement ring by a lady in France. It has a small diamond center..so the lady who wore it must have had DSS and wanted more finger coverage..so she had it made into a daisy cluster..

I will for sure thanks Joanne. Not sure he’s the PT who will be coming tomorrow but we did request him as we liked him but for that one last mistake yesterday.

@missy Do tell Greg to be a coward for pain, like me, at least for a couple of days!
It has been raining since midnight - the first serious rain since last spring; not cold, no wind, very heavy fog - comically good for work; I need to be done, then, there will be pictures from a walk after the rains, of course.
@Tekate all of the winter disaster is up north, at the other end of Spain; there were warnings here too, for absolutely nothing, but I did get a fright from those News, of course [Google was wiser.]

-

Salve NIRDI!

He’s tough but he is also smart so I think he is listening to his body. He is not rationing pain pills like I did lol. But he isn’t taking too many either. Taking as he needs them and he’s being smart re exercises and listening to his body. Thanks @AV_
Enjoy the rain. Love the sound and smell and a walk after the rain is magical.

Hello lovelies

Ugh! :angryfire: I feel so bad that the PT overdid it with Greg @mssy, and now he’s in pain. These people are supposed to be professionals and should know what to expect a patient to be able to do so soon after surgery. I hope with some rest, it won’t set Greg back. It’s good news that although still in pain, It’s not so intense and Greg is able to sleep once he’s had his meds. Although I’m sure you’re sleeping with one eye and one ear open just in case he needs you. Oliver is such a little monkey, I think the only way he’s going to stop is if one of the other kitties puts him in his place. I hope you’ll find peace when you get Fred home.

I too wondered the reason why that fellow was let go, @marcy, if it’s cost cutting that’s really worrying for everyone else. The pie turned out really well, and hit the spot!

Oh no to losing things @Mamabean, just as well you’ve got some lovely things coming your way soon. I’m looking forward to seeing all your CADs and of course the finished articles. I think baguettes look soooo classy.

Woohoo @Tekate, can’t wait to see your band, when are you expecting it? Sounds like you’ve been having fun with Autie. Our friend in Phoenix had a shoulder replacement, (old injury from college days) and he had no problems at all afterwards.

I’m glad you’re not experiencing the extreme weather there in Spain @AV_ , let’s hope it stays that way.

I hope you’re enjoying your new vision @Jimmianne. When do you think you’ll be able to get the other eye done?

Hi @Niffler75, how’s your day going? Are you in the North or South of England?

I hope your Mum’s chemo went well yesterday @Scandanavian, and that she’s doing OK.

It’s been one of those horrible dreary damp days today. We changed internet providers today, and had to set up the new router this morning. We had a few minor problems, until we read the instructions properly  After that, we had to set up our satellite TV system again, which took quite a while. Once we finally got the main box connected, I had to reconnect the other boxes and that took some doing, but finally it was all done. By combining the internet and TV package, we’ve saved about $50 a month!!!! By this time, it was nearly lunchtime, so we decided not to go to the gym today.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are having a good day :wavey:

Nice going @Austina ! More money for bling :appl:
Seriously nice going. I’m so lazy because I should have done this eons ago. We are overpaying and can switch providers and pay less. After greg recovers maybe I’ll put this in motion. Hope the rest of your day goes well. XO

Does anyone know how hard is it to ship to Singapore? I also never sold anything and I’m stumped how to use PayPal friends and family if I only have my credit card on file with Paypal instead of my bank account. If they pay with cash through PayPal..does it go to a cash balance which I would then have to spend down? It’s bothering me that someone wants to buy my AVR but she’s in Singapore. I’m clueless so I told her no but I feel bad. Any suggestions would be great..
I wouldn’t even feel bad if I didn’t sell it because I love it..but I’ll be getting the ACA..It will just sit in my jewelry box..At least if a PS’er gets her I will be able to see it..haha

@Mamabean she will call me Granny... my son likes it, I liked Nanny but every time Mike said it Joanne I missed my Nanny's.. :( so then I thought Grandma, but it's a lot to say and Mike said Mom how about Granny, now I first thought Granny on the Beverly Hillbillies she was a spitfire and I thought it's really sort of old fashioned and demeaning to older women which I am proud to say that I AM!.. I'm thinking of running Grammie instead through Mike and see if he likes it, he said any name I wanted to use was okay but that was months ago! xo

@Austina getting time for dinner in England :) thank you for your compliment on my ring :) we shall see, I thought it was odd when I found it the other day, almost one carat F color SI1? for as cheap as it was, granted it's only 14K gold..I had the devil trying to find the ring to buy it last night, it was bizarre, it was there then it wasn't searching under eternity rings - it was there then not.. I found it again after like an hour of searching and bought it, it was odd that the ring let me buy it w/o asking me ring size.. weird, so I went over to Facebook and emailed them there and told them I wanted to be an eternity ring but it doesn't ask my size and they emailed immediately back saying 'oh, just put the size in the NOTE part of the pay for screen' which is what I did, I got an immediate email saying I bought it, this morning I received an email showing it was going to FEDEX and should be here Friday.. Hope it's a size 7, now it's impossible to find the ring on their site, I could only find it through going back thru my history from history and it says "no longer available" the whole thing seems weird and a but off kilter if you get my drift. I have never bought from IDJ before so if this thing comes and it's ugly I will send it back... I should ask Missy what she thinks of the whole situation because I believe she knows Yekutiel or has spoken to him on occasion... thanks for reading Austina! go eat dinner...

Hi everyone,
@missy Glad greg is feeling better on the whole. Recovery from surgery for most is not a linear process. The PT thing is a small setback. Sounds like he is doing really well. =)2 I have two cats, Oreo and Hershey.
@Austina I am from 'oop north', yorkshire.
We had an exciting day today. Met a lady who may be the right teacher for my son who has additional needs. We have been home schooling for quite some time but feel my son is now ready to try a specialist school.
Hope everyone is having an ok day. Please bear with me while I get to know everyone!

@Niffler75 please don't feel pressured to get to know everyone immediately. We are a very laid back and warm group of women and there are many of us so it will take time to get to know us. No pressure.

Very pleased for you an your son that you might have found a perfect teacher for your son. That is wonderful news!

And thanks for the encouragement re Greg. Today his ankle is swollen and his ankle was not swollen at all after the surgery and the past four days so that is new. But Greg said he read that is normal. Anyway he is resting now and icing it.

Love your kitty names. Fred's first name was Oreo but we renamed him Fred. Still have a soft spot for the name Oreo though and haha love the name Hershey. Goes together very well. OK great, now I am hungry. :lickout: (doesn't take much to get me hungry).

Have a lovely day!

Please disregard my request for help to ship to Singapore. I think it would be too confusing,,If anyone knows how to sell with PayPal..that would be VERY appreciated!

Joanne, I think all you need to do is request the amount of money from the buyer's PayPal account or have them send you the amount of money to your PayPal account. Very straightforward and PayPal directs you through it. If I can do it anyone can do it.

As some of you might know from my posts this year I have been having a sort of bad year. I finally was feeling a bit better and getting my life back again. Well we had a bike accident this morning and I broke my ankle/leg in 2 places. Tibia and Fibia. When I do something I do it all the way. I was taken to Monmouth hospital and had x-rays/Cat scans/blood work and met with the orthopedic surgeon who just happened to be visiting a patient there when I was there. He said it is a very bad break and will probably take a year for me to start feeling like myself again but that hopefully in 6 months I can get back to easy activities and such. I have to stay off it at least 3 months-no weight at all and they are not sure how long I have to wait to have the surgery (he said he estimates it will be at least a 3 hour surgery) because my swelling is so bad they have to wait to do the surgery. I am going to need pins and screws and what have you. All foreign language to me.

So I am a bit depressed because being active is the one thing I can use to work out my stress which I have had some of this year LOL. I am worried that 1. I will never get back to the same activity level I used to love and 2.I will never feel 100% again and 3. I am also concerned about the next # of months. How am I going to not go out of my mind. Doing nothing is not something I can do well. But I have no choice. There really is nothing I can do.

And lastly I am very worried about my job. I am a consultant and they have no legal obligation to wait for me. The clinic director is not a nice guy to say the least and his only concern is making money for the clinic and if I cannot see patients for 3 months he is not going to wait. I am the only one in my profession there so no one else can see my patients. I haven't called them yet because he leaves early on Fridays so he was already gone when I spoke with the orthopedic surgeon. I am so sad about this as I love my job but there is no loyalty when it comes to dollars. They will not just hire an interim doctor either. They will just say bye and that'll be that. So sad about this. I want to curl up and just cry about everything yanno?

I also have an appointment at the Hospital for Special Surgery Monday AM with an orthopedic surgeon my mom saw when she had a botched surgery that he fixed. My family is adamant that I get this second opinion and they know how good this doctor is having personal experience with him and his reputation is stellar but the thought of dragging myself to the city etc with all the pain I am currently in is terrifying. I have a high pain threshold I really do and I am crying from the horrible pain I have been in all day from this. Vicodin is not touching it at all. And of course no matter how good a doctor is things can go wrong so all around scared, in pain and depressed.

And I cannot get up the stairs here (at beach house) so I just gave up and will spend the night on the couch downstairs. My poor dh is doing all he can but he cannot help my pain. We were supposed to see my family here tomorrow for a belated father's day celebration and now they still want to come but I couldn't even get to the backyard today when we got home because there are a few steps down outside and I tried but just couldn't do it. I am happy I was able to climb the short stairs to the front door to get into the house. I had a cast up over my thigh but the surgeon cut it off and redid it to my knee thank goodness. So much pain.

I am so sorry to be here again crying on your shoulders. I am sure some (many?) are sick of my sad sack posts this year and I apologize sincerely. But I just had to cry here once again. This year sucks lemons. I know the journey ahead will be challenging and I will be doing my best to maintain a good attitude because there's no other choice. Thanks for reading all my ramblings.

So incredibly sorry that you experienced this " Mishap" ( it sounds like it earned the capital "M". Getting a second opinion and possibly a third opinion is crucial, you don't want to rush into anything. Have you ever done acupuncture? You may find it is a big help with the pain/ swelling.
Once the dust is settled, possibly doing some chair yoga might help keep your other muscles limber. Hope you'll keep us updated on how you are doing.

Thanks Missy..Do you have your bank account connected to them or your credit card? I just have my credit card as I didn’t want my bank account connected to it. I use Paypal for everything but it goes through my credit card, I don’t know how it works if someone pays through their bank and it goes into my account as cash. The cash can’t go into my credit card so I’m assuming I would then have a cash balance that I would have to spend down from PayPal. I use PayPal for everything so that’s not a problem.

We have both connected to it...because if I want to send cash to someone it has to be connected to the bank account. I think. I am really not savvy with these things but we have been using PayPal forever and never had an issue. Greg is napping right now and when he wakes up I will ask him since he set our account up.

ETA: My guess is if someone sends you a cash PayPal payment it will become a credit on your PayPal account that you can just spend when you use PayPal again. Does that make sense?

Aww, thanks @Ceilimom. This thread was started a long time ago when I had the accident (June 2014) and I am all recovered now. Thanks so much for your well wishes. I appreciate that. ❤

So Greg confirmed that is correct. Keep in mind he is a bit fuzzy brained these days. LOL and Oy. He is not happy right now because he is in pain and he thinks it is from PT yesterday. That the PT was over zealous. :/

Here‘s the cad David sent me..I wanted some of the baguettes to have straight sides...Every one of them are angled. My Tiffany baguette band has short baguettes which I really like...I drew little lines on his cad trying to make the east/west baguettes straight..and trying to make the king baguettes shorter..but not sure it would work. That’s in the second photo..

Supposed to be here Friday by 8:00 pm.. hope it's comfortable ??? :)

My eternity from Blue Nile looks to have smaller stones than yours....but it’s very comfortable. My 3/4 eternity with 15 pointers from Brian Gavin is larger and not as comfortable but is okay...I favor my BN one. I don’t think they make it any more but I’ll see if I can find out if it’s a carat..BRB
*edited to say mine is 3/8 carat and it’s an eternity..It‘s much smaller than yours..I’ll go check to see the carat weight of Brian Gavin 3/4 eternity BRB
**edited again to say the BG 3/4 eternity is 2.25 carats. I think your carat size is the perfect size! I love my 3/8 carat one so yours will be blingier but still comfortable! I can’t wait to see it!
