The Want… a bypass ring
Initial Inspiration photo:

The Process…
I acquired two .70 faint colored pear diamonds over the last year with a bypass ring project in mind.
While I love the original inspiration ring, I am a bezel gal. The process would be to refine the design to eliminate the prong setting. I started to play with the orientation of the pear shape too.
The first design pass was inspired by the iconic Bvlgari ring. I liked the orientation of the stone in the gypsy inspired setting. While this is a beautiful design, I wanted to add my own spin on it.

I love the simplicity of the below design but the 2 rings needed to fit together into a bypass.

By reorienting the pear stone points upward/downward, I was able to get them to fit together. By wrapping the metal around the stone, I eliminated any need for prongs.

Since the diamonds faint color are slightly different from each other, I chose to accentuate the difference by using 2 different metals and finishes.

The rings fit together and fit comfortably on my pointer finger. They separate and fit on my middle finger and looking like a snake-inspired ring.
