Any other tools or anything else I can check to see if it's a good stone?
I don't have any pics.

Thank you!

The next step, ideally, would be to get an idealscope image to further assess light performance. It also needs to be examined in sunlight to make sure the fluor doesn't cause it to look oily / milky (very rare, but it does happen).

Thanks for your response. Pardon me if this is a silly question, but how can I get the idealscope? I have seen this link: http://www.ideal-scope.com/cart_order.asp
-is that the only place to buy? Can I stop by a jewlery store to use one? Can I still get the idealscope while it's set in a ring? Like I said sorry if that's a silly question, I'm still learning :)

anyone else?
please?

Are you buying from one of the vendors here? Many will be able to take an IS for you, otherwise you can only get one from that website afaik most brick and mortar stores won't have them.

It's from Blue Nile. Maybe I will just buy the idealscope...

I *think* BN can tell you whether or not it appears milky outside. If you want you can purchase the IS for your own use and then see it once it arrives. I bought one for fun :P.

Since BN has a return policy you should be okay :).
