Hi everyone thank you for your time. I'm kinda new to this industry and I made a mistake. I purchased a loose diamond that is a VVS1 in clarity and F in color. Unfortunately the wholeseller I purchased from didnt tell me that is was color enhanced.... now I'm kinda stuck with this diamond and I'm not sure how I can sell this diamond and help would be great. thanks in advance

You won't be able to get much for an enhanced diamond. If the vendor didn't disclose treatment then you likely can file a dispute with your CC company. It sounds like a dishonest vendor.

What's your evidence that this is color enhanced? In particular, is this something the seller told you, is it in the paperwork, or was it someone else?

Just to knock out a few of the traditional preliminary questions:
When did you buy this?
Was there a credit card involved?
Was this in the US or somewhere else? Where?
Who said it's VVS1/F? (What lab, if any)
Have you asked the seller to help? What did they tell you?

Sorry i purchased the diamond while I was overseas and the is what the vendor who sold it told me than I took it to a local jeweler by my house today and he tested with diamond tester that also checks if it is moissanite. everything came back good until he put it under another device and it came back as it was an HPHT color enhanced. but he said that the inclusion are very small the is 3 in total next to the table. but he said unfortunately he won't be able to buy it since he doesn't deal with enhanced diamonds. but he said if I was to get it graded by GIA it could be worth something.

Definitely send it to GIA for a lab report.
I might be wrong, but I’ve not heard of “colour enhancement” of white diamonds, only for coloured diamond (to tint them pink, blue, green etc).
Are you sure the jeweller didn’t say “Clarity enhanced”?
If the jeweller can detect HPHT that would be more indicative of a man made/ grown diamond?
In any regard, you need a GIA report confirming colour, clarity and any treatments plus cutting dimensions so any potential buyer can assess the diamond.
There are a few venues to then sell your diamond - for a fee you could use an auction house who sells jewellery, a consignment jeweller or eBay. Free to use options would include Loupe Troop and Betterthandiamond.
Any type of enhancement reduces its value and makes it much harder to sell unfortunately.

HPHT is also used on mined diamonds to improve their color.

This. The resale value is incredibly low. In many cases, it isn't worth reselling.

Which is true but I have found GIA reports like this one selling for over 10k. in the diamond I have I looked under it under a 30x and the inclusion are noticeable. personally I'm not looking to make a fortune off of this stone I just want to recoup what I paid for

Can you answer @denverappraiser’s questions?

Also, where did you see diamonds with the GIA report you posted selling for $10,000? This kind of makes sense to me, as an untreated 1.70 carat E GIA XXX would go for a lot more than that - so ... maybe someone would be willing to buy it for $10,000 ... it would certainly be pretty enough. However, that diamond has a GIA certificate ... we don’t know yet if yours has a certificate of any kind or whether you will have it graded by GIA.

On another note, real wholesalers generally do not sell individual stones to individuals .. some people call themselves wholesalers to give the illusion that you’re getting a great and exclusive deal. It can be a red flag.

To try to answer your question: I would suggest perhaps consignment with a jeweller you trust (maybe where those other ones you know of are being sold), and listing on sites like Loupe Troup and Diamond Bistro. You can mention you have it for sale on PS Preloved forum. I don’t think you can get anywhere without a certificate, though.

If you were willing to pay $X for it, you may be able to find someone else that will do it too ... except you’ll hopefully disclose the treatment.

Best of luck to you!

Color me skeptical. It's not that hard to detect HPHT color enhancement with the right tools, but the tool is unusual and decidedly expensive. I'm not convinced, which may not matter but I agree that GIA is probably a good stop if you can't make a deal to do a refund with the seller.

You didn't answer any of my questions and all are relevant to providing useful advice to YOUR question. That's your call, of course, but I'm out of this thread. Best of luck with it.

Asking $10k is not the same as getting it.

If it is not returnable then:
First thing to do is get an authoritative answer on what you have.
That would be a GIA report.

If you don't have a GIA report, it will be almost impossible to sell it. And even if you do, you won't be able to sell it for anything near what you paid.

What it can be sold for will depend on if GIA determines it is actually treated.
