Need ideas on a reset for 3 small OEC diamonds

I inherited this diamond ring when my grandmother died and have been planning to have it reset for the last 10 years but didn't know how to go about it. Now that I've found PS I have people to help me! I took it in to a local jeweler and he said they're Old European Cut and I can't remember what size but probably about .25 carats each I'd guess. The ring is probably about 100 years old and I'd even consider wearing it as-is except there's a crack in the band and the band is so thin that I'd be worried about losing it.

So, I'm interested in ideas for how to reset? I'm probably mostly interested in it as a RHR but would also consider a pendant. I'm open to pretty much every idea and wouldn't be opposed to adding other gemstones too. Basically I have no clue what to do with it as I'm sort of new to jewelry in general but would love to channel my grandmother by wearing her diamonds.

Any ideas?

Kudos to you for wanting to wear, enjoy and repurpose your grandmother's diamonds...a meaningful and sentimental project that should also be enjoyable!
I was struck by the profile shot of her/your ring..the open work and pierced metal is gorgeous. It reminded me immediately of the work of a well-regarded craftsman who's known for similar open work, a jeweler named Sebastian Barier. He does gorgeous work, vintage-inspired, very meticulous and detailed. His website is sebastienbarier.com, and he has a very similar design on his site (similar at least from the top view) that could accommodate your stones, if you want to consider a similar look for the ring. It's his style # BO 7, with three stones set horizontally across. If you go to the first page of his site and click on "Rings", it's the second from right on the first page. (Sorry, couldn't figure out how to post it directly.)
I know that PS'ers have some of his work, and you could do a search on here to see other pics. He doesn't deal directly with consumers much, as I understand it, but sells through various Jewelers around the country...if you do a Google search, you'll see his work around and see who carries his mountings.
Anyway, you could certainly come up with any number of settings to showcase the stones and preserve her memory but this setting of his just immediately came to mind as a potential option that was in keeping with the feel of the original.

What do you think about the first ring on this page? I'm not sure what style you are looking for but this jeweler made a setting
for my my 5mm OEC and it turned out really well. She will create a design for you or you can look through her gallery and
take pieces and parts from settings and design your own ring.

Wow, thank for the great ideas! I love the idea of that Sebastien Barier setting because it is so similar to the original setting. I think I've been mentally avoiding this project because I feel badly about doing away the original antique setting. But it's so damaged it needs to done...it's not doing any good sitting in a box on my dresser.

I also like the denimanddiamonds option too....very pretty. Maybe I'll contact the vendor and see what she ideas she might have.

It's possible to re-shank rings, maybe look into that option? I agree that the setting is really beautiful and it would be a shame to take it apart.

I love this three stone setting and the bezel plus halo would make it quite a lot of coverage

Niel-where is that setting from? It's pretty though the strange/interesting thing you probably can't tell from the picture is that the center diamond is actually the smallest of the three. I wonder how that would work with a three stone setting like that?

It actually never occurred to me to try and have it fixed. Do you know how to go about finding someone who can do that? You can kind of see the crack in the picture on the right hand side where the shank meets the filagree. The shank itself is only 1 mm at the bottom so I wonder if that could maybe increased a bit...it seems so fragile. Though I guess it's lasted 100 years so far but probably also hasn't been worn much in the last 60 or so.

its a ritani. They dont show it on their site anymore but im pretty sure they still make it.

I didnt know the middle was the smallest. To me id think it would still work, but im not sure . Another one that i think would be more flattering if the center is smaller is this, though its a bit more unique. You could put the smaller one on the side with the single stone...

Maybe a little crazy, but would be amazing.
