Need help with metal setting- J colored large oval diamond

Hello!!

My diamond has already been purchased. It is a GIA 'J' colored oval diamond measuring over 10mm. It is ideal cut, with no flourescence. I'm getting mixed reviews as to what metal color I should set it in so that it doesn't reflect significant yellow undertones.

What are your thoughts on doing a solitaire setting with 4 prongs? I would do the 4 prongs in white gold. And, i'd like the setting in a diamond paved rose gold band. I've never seen a picture of anyone with something similar- so need everybody's thoughts/similar pictures!

I don't have white prongs--

but here is my N color stone set in 14k rose gold with G/H pave diamonds. I think rose gold is very forgiving to lower colors. I would think the white prongs would actually bring out more color but I am not sure.

Unset, this stone has very visible tint both face up and face down.

What you are looking for sounds similar to a ring that SB621 just did with jbeg. Google in SMTB, I think she called it her princess ring? I would do prongs in platinum.

Well he popped the question!!!! Thanks for your help everyone. I am SO happy with it. We went with the rose gold as it was going to be most forgiving. I can't tell in the least that it's a J colored diamond!!

I think 18K gold with no palladium over it.. I have an 18K gold ring with diamonds and I consistently have to have it recoated. I think this would be very lovely.. good luck!
