Hello Everyone!

Hoping you can assist me at selecting the best diamond available that is in my price range from BN.

I am looking for a 3ct J/I Color SI1 Ideal Cut This can be SI2 if its eye clean

Hoping to find an eye clean diamond in the 25-31k price range.

Max budget is 33k with the band.

I found this one but having trouble determine if it would be eye clean.

are you set on purchasing from BlueNile? are other vendors an option based on your criteria?

Yes I would prefer to stay with BN.

They do not charge tax for where I live and their return policy seems to be great from what others have said.

You're going to have a hard time telling if an SI1-SI2 is eyeclean if you're buying from a vendor that doesn't provide pictures of the stone. I would either change my parameters or my vendor if you're looking in the SI range.

The stone you are interested in has quite a few crystals throughout. If you are going with BlueNile because of their return policy then take advantage of it. Purchase the stone and see for yourself if it is eye clean to your standards. If not, return it.

That one looks nice! If you call BN, they can tell you if it's eye clean or not.

Just a word of advice, on BN they are on some occasions, able to provide an actual image of a specific diamond ( it is, however, magnified x20 or something like that). I suggest using the chat. When comparing before I have been able to get somebody on the chat that can help, or suggest a better stone in the same price range.

Thanks for the advice.

I will be contacting them to see if they can check for a phone or to see if its eye clean.

not a bad image, I think its worth a look in person. once set, all you will probably see is Bling, and you'd have to look for that black carbon speck I suspect.

Here are the specs

Carat weight: 3.02
Cut: Ideal
Color: I
Clarity: SI1

Depth %: 61.4%
Table %: 59%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Strong
Measurements: 9.30 x 9.26 x 5.69 mm

Should I be worried about the Strong Fluorescence?

The blue fluoro will actually help make this diamond appear whiter than it's "J" color on paper. The problem that I have seen once was a diamond with possibly very strong blue making the diamond hazy/milky looking. Apparently many on here says its rare, but I guess my sister was unlucky to find one that was hazy milky in appearance. I have had a few diamonds with Strong blue fluro and had no problem- no hazy/milky appearance and loved it actually especially under the sun, and black lights has a nice blue sparkle effect to it.

Can you ask your rep? do they have a gemologist that they can discuss the concern of hazy/milky appearance with?
