Need help finding an RB Hearts & Arrows

I have G and I stones. There is definitely a difference, at least to me. The I does face up beautifully, no tint most of the time. But you who own it would know. It's the mind clean thing too. If you want to go bigger (which I'm all for!) you would have to accept that you would notice the color at times.

I know you are over loaded with info and probably a bit anxious to get this over with but hang in there, you can't rush, there is plenty in the market. The longer you look, the better you know about your preference. YOU WILL FIND IT. Do not settle for anything you are not 100% sure :)

Great advice. Don't rush. Take your time. Personally I am not bothered by color and would, for earrings (K's are my preference), pendant (K is fine here too), RHR (depends on shape) go for an I or even much lower. But in an engagement ring I just prefer H or better FOR MYSELF. Unless it's an old cut... in old cuts I have a much wider color tolerance for an engagement ring and would have no issue with a warm stone and would consider myself lucky if I could get an I.

You just have to figure out what your preferences are. Until you do, the conservative approach is smart. You don't want to regret a large purchase. But that said... you also don't want to look at it and think... I could have gotten such a larger stone IF I had knows that I would be fine with an I, silly me going for such high color!

Just my 2 cents: I also can tell the difference between my G and I colored diamonds. But keep in mind, most of the color is in the body of the diamond (in a well cut, H&A stone)...so if you choose a halo that blocks your view of the body...you really will have a hard time telling the difference. An I/VS2 is a great value and a 1.25 will look huge on your dainty finger. Congrats! How fun!

kat, the ASET image of the stone is great! So if you decide on that one, it should be very nice!

I'll tell you that I prefer G or H for a ring stone, so my recommendation might be to consider H VS2 to get a little more size.

The problem with going to a jewelry store to look at color is that their lights are designed to make all the diamonds look sparkly and you simply can't tell much about color. You really have to have a stone in all your normal lighting environments to know how you feel about it. But the best test for me is outdoors in daylight but out of the sun. That is the best place to judge color, for me.

Thanks diamondseeker! I actually decided that I'm going stay with a G colour stone. I'm happy with 1.05, the halo will make look even bigger and I was afraid that 1.25 would look ridiculous on me with a halo! Im going to debate within the next couple of days on this diamond. I cannot stress how much I appreciate all your help!! thank you so much!!

Thank you diamondseeker! I actually decided that I much prefer a G....I am more than happy with a 1.05, and i felt that the 1.25 for me personally was actually big especially with a halo around. I'm going to think about it some more and will let you know what I decide. I can't stress enough how much i appreciate your help!! thank you so much!

Gypsy! I was awaiting your opinion! I'm really scared to let this diamond go! What I'm also afraid of is HOW MUCH im going to be charged for a "craftmanship fee" by the HK vendor (they said that they have to melt the gold and re-set it, sigh). Anyways, I'm going to think on it for a couple of days. Let you guys know what I've decided! Thanks again!
