Hello all - I am a newbie and have learned a ton of information reading up on the message board over the past few weeks. I am looking to make a loose brilliant cut diamond purchase within the next week or two and planning on having SK set it. I have been looking around for loose diamonds but need some help with finding some quality cut diamonds here online.

I am looking for something ~1.75 carat, ideal cut, G or better color, and VS2 or better clarity. I attached a few examples of what I'm considering right now - just wanted to get some second opinions.

1.68 G VS1

1.74 E VS1

I would eliminate the virtual stone from WF and replace with this:

The primary reason to buy from WF is that they have superior ideal cut stones cut for their inventory, so when I buy from them, I search only their in-house stones. If you never plan on trading in the diamond for an upgrade, you can go with either one as the one I posted and the JA stone are very nice. If you do think you might someday upgrade, go with WF since they have a better upgrade policy.

Much appreciated - that is great to know! Are there any other online sources that would have comparable ideal cuts besides JA and WF. Just want to make sure I'm turning every stone.

My diamonds are all from Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash and I highly recommend them!

I don't see a close comp to the two stones above, but there is an excellent choice if you'd drop a grade in color and clarity and be able to go to 2 cts at $19,663 with wire payment (you can see hidden prices by clicking on "reserve diamond" and the price will appear in the cart).

Actually there is also this one at $20,525:

Thanks. Does Good as Gold have a comparable upgrade policy to WF? And how can I tell whether the Si1 is eye clean without seeing it. I noticed that WF labels the diamonds as eyeclean in the desciption.

OP, I'd jump on this one!! Nice increase in size and you will not be able to tell the difference in the G and H... :naughty:

Thanks everyone - much appreciated. Any other input around the forum?

I agree with Diamondseeker and would personally select the 2.00 from GOG. They seem to extremely reliable and will set up a video on utube to see the brillance nd close ups of the stone

could they be the same stone?????????????????????????????
