Hello PriceScopers!
I am preparing to pop the question near the end of this year and need some help finding the right rock. I have a budget of $5000 for the diamond but am willing to go up a couple hundos more for the right one. So I tend to get a bit obsessive and have looked at a bunch of rocks, but am kind of torn.
I am blessed by the fact that my girlfriend has tiny hands (think fifth grader hands) and doesn't want a big rock. For that reason, I want to cut back on the size (~0.8 carat) and max out all the other C's.
For example,

On the other hand, a part of me knows that moving from a D-VVS2 to a G-VS1 or even to a H-VS2 will probably have no noticeable difference for most people. As for size, Is there even a noticeable difference between 0.84c to 0.92c to 1.06c? Here are some of the diamonds I've been looking at.
0.92c G-VS1:

1.06c H-VS2:

I know that moving up the clarity or color scale for smaller diamonds is usually not worth it, but not really sure what an above average point for color/clarity would be for a 0.8X - 1.0X carat diamond. The only thing I am sure of is that the cut must be excellent to ideal. I'd love to hear your opinion, wisdom, and/or advice.
Thank you!
