Good afternoon,

I am new to the forums and new to purchasing diamonds, I found the band i would like to buyalthough I am not sure where to purchase it and get the best deal possible. (what is their cheapest retailer? Anybody recently purchased a Verragio band?) Do you usually pay retail prices for Verragio rings? I think the band is gorgeous and I know for a fact she will love it, a long time ago she mentioned what she wanted and I pretended not to pay attention... hehe

It is a Verragio: COUTURE-0424CU-TT, http://www.verragio.com/Verragio-En...tal_type=undefined&s_prod_gemstones=undefined

I am looking to spend $9-10,000.00 for the entire ring. So I have roughly $7000 left for the diamond, therefore I am looking everywhere. I have been reading a lot online and looking at all kinds of diamonds in all kinds of online stores.

Do you recommend purchasing the diamond online and then getting it installed on the band by the shop? I was thinking for $7000 I wont be able to purchase more than a 1.2 carat diamond that looks great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dan.

It's my understanding that the big name ring designers do not allow retailers to discount their settings, so you probably won't be able to find "a deal" on the setting unless you happen to find a used ring in the right style and size. From a logistics perspective it would be a lot easier to get the setting and diamond from the same vendor. So you can either go to a local retailer, or buy online. Some of the PS vendors that carry Verragio are Solomon bros., Since 1910, and Good Old Gold. There are probably more - some of the websites are harder to search than others. :wink2:

Your next decision should be what combination of the color, cut, clarity, and size you want for your stone. Or more specifically, which of these is most important to you and what range of each is acceptable.
