I started my adventure in finding the perfect 10 year anniversary set around May/June. I looked at so many pictures, I knew I didn't want anything that looked like anyone else's ring - we didn't say standard vows and our relationship is not like anyone else's. I knew I wanted something special. I went to Jared and Shane and knew what I did not want. It quickly became apparent that a sapphire was out of budget and while I was open to lab grown options, my husband was not so keen. I found Loupe Troop and found "the ring" and it was in budget, too!
Still, I pondered it a bit then reached out to Caysie to find out it was sold but she could make me one! This was my first real experience in custom work. I did end up changing the band to rose gold for contrast and added a contoured engraved band to match the halo so it would be more like a wedding "set." But there was a lot of trust involved. I had never seen her work in person. I had never seen this ring on a hand (even the glamour shots I got last week were all in the box), I had never seen a gray diamond close up in person, I questioned my decision to do mixed metals (which some people are saying will be dated soon). I'm not sure I'll ever go back. I'm not giving up my favorite pawn shop but.... this forum has changed me! I wish I knew more and joined sooner before I started this process.
Anyways, months passed by and I passed them obsessing over everyone else's jewelry (as we do here) but FINALLY she's here!!!!!! And a day early - in time to show her off at my office party tomorrow! Attached are Caysie's glamour shots and my own. Mine aren't great but I've got a lot to learn from all of you! (And to keep some hand lotion in my purse!)
