My mother is oves jewelry (who doesn''t)! But she likes everything yellow gold and jade (we are Chinese), which is not my style. But she always had this one ring in 14k white gold, that I adored and I always tried it on, even in my teenage years. When I turned 21, over 5 years ago she said that I was old enough to have some real jewelry and gave me the ring!!! She told me the story behind the ring. She said she had it for over 30 years now. When she was younger she worked in a jewelry shop in Hong Kong and a Philippino lady pawned this ring for a bunch of gold rope chains (popular then) to sell to people back home where she is from, to make some money and come back to purchase the ring back. The lady never came back for her ring. My mom loved the ring, told my dad about it, gathered up some money and bought it from the shop. So now I wear it as a right had ring and adore it! So much that I am getting something similar (asscher cut) diamond for an e-ring.
I never knew what the diamonds were because it never came with a cert. But now I know they are square step cuts, and it is visibly whiter than my moms G color 2.3ct RB, and the diamonds are a decent size. maybe .25ct???. I really should take it to an expert oneday just to get some insight on size and everything else. Also maybe get it reset because the setting is very old and the prongs dont seem to be placed very good.
Well here is a few pics of the ring...tell me what you honestly think.
