aca it does melt! That's such a good way of describing it! I spent a great deal of trouble getting the right tone of white gold, I think that Erica must have been driven demented!!! I'm so pleased we took the trouble - I chose palladium white gold as I'm nickel intolerant. It's such a good choice for the warmer stones.

The sides are indeed traps - two on each side. The central cushion is 8.5 by 7.7mm. Hope this helps!
