We lovingly refer to this ring as the brick...it is an aquamarine, over 24ct with .75ct of diamonds...set in 18k white gold...
I am a March baby...the Ides of March, actually...so this is probably one of the next pieces which will be added to my collection...
I have no idea what I will do with it...I love bling, but this is almost too big / showy even for me!!!

Wow! That''s huge. What an aqua.

Very nice. That thing is a bohemiath!!

That''s enormous!!!! I love that it''s in a vintage setting, but if you''re not comfortable wearing that size stone, you could always consider a recut ala Ellen and her magnificent Leon Mege set recut aqua!

I think it is really fun. You may want to consider wearing it on your middle finger so that it feels more like a fun statement piece.

That is a very cool brick! Love it! Do you have the dimensions? [curious to see how big it is

I''d leave it as is and wear in on the index or middle finger.

Holy smokes! It''s beautiful.... and HUGE!!!

You can knock someone''s eye out with that stone. Lovely color and setting though. Just WOW!!!

wow! that is huge and BEAUTIFUL!

great color, too! i''d call it "the brick" as well. being a march baby as well, i''d die for it! but totally understand the idea of breaking it up- i couldn''t wear it and pull it off!

Wow! That is the Beyonce e-ring equivalent in Aquamarine! It''s beautiful, one of my favorite gemstones is Aqua.

It''s very light in saturation. If you cut it down, it might go almost colorless, so just be cautious about doing that.

Thanks for the compliments everyone...my GM is happy to hear that her aqua was well received by you all!

measurements are in the 21 x 15 x 9 mm range...this is me measuring them...I am sure a pro could get more accurate numbers...

I don''t think I could ever have it recut due to sentiment...reset or resized for my fingers, yes..it is a 4.5 and needs to be a 6.5 to 7.

I will try to get better pics this week, it has a pretty color...not quite as light as it seems...I have a habit of photographing at midnight or later, lol.

I would love to see some of your larger, brick-like pieces....maybe that would inspire my creativity!

hi roverchic!

That is one heck of a ring - and stunning!

I followed a link a few days ago, that was part of a post somewhere around here, and came to here...

BeautifullyHuge

Take a look at the models'' rings she is wearing on the front page, they are huge, but absolutely stunning. Not everyone can wear rings that large of course, but I reckon, most of us could, for a special occasion...

Your ring is beautiful, and perhaps should stay as it is, with maybe a re-size, to enable it for your middle finger/right hand?

Little black dress...cocktail hour - perfect!

Enjoy it for always - truly an heirloom.

Good lord, and I thought mine was big!

How nice that your grandmother is giving you some of her pretties. Aren''t gammas great?

Your lovely ring makes quite a statement, that''s for sure! And I totally understand you not wanting to recut it, that is a very personal and individual decision.

Just a thought, have you considered making it into a pendant?

if its to big for a ring have you thought of maybe making a pendant out of it?
that would be very lovely you might even be able to use the gold for the ring in the pendant

Wow, your grandmother had some stunning pieces! Love some more handshots and up-close shots of all your
pieces when you get a chance (it takes a lot of experimenting to get good shots).

I do love her ring...and at some point I may consider having it reset...from what I have seen and to hear you all sing his praises, I couldn''t imagine letting anyone else do the work!

We had talked about making it into a pendant, but the stone is so thick it looks awkward on the chest...come too far off the body...plus if you bend over you risk giving yourself a black eye, lol.

It does indeed work as a statement ring / piece...she and I are the only ones in the family who would ever think of wearing it...the largest gemstone I own is in the 16ct range, and people definitely notice when I wear it...I totally agree that it would be fun to wear at a special evening out...and it is so big ppl would probably think it is fake ;)

HI:

Great piece!!!! I wear my estate 22 c. Aqua all the time...if fact I wore it yesterday.....

cheers--Sharon

"The Brick" is a big ole'' beautiful brick of fun!

I think that once it''s sized, it will look gorgeous as a middle- or ring-finger ring for a night out . . . or grocery shopping! But I tend to like them big. Even though I end up having to answer "of course it''s real!!" a lot. Oh well . . . if people think it''s fake, you''re less likely to get mugged.

That is huge!!! Lovely, but huge!

LOL. I am glad that I am not the only person who likes to grocery shop in expensive and/or flashy jewelry...my friends think I am nuts!!!

There is something about how sparkly pieces dance in the overhead lights of a parking lot at night or while pushing a buggy in Costco...sometimes I forget why I am there, hehe.

canuk-gal: I am Sharon as well! :) Would love to see your aqua!
