WOW! I don''t know what I''m more impressed with - the ring or your photography skills! The colors that you captured in the stone in pic 3 are just amazing! Just goes to show that numbers aren''t everything - that diamond is a stunner! WOW!

Thanks FarleysMom. It''s been a topic of much discussion for the past few weeks between she and I.

Thanks for the kind words. But I don''t know what you mean by "numbers aren''t everything." It''s a triple excellent on GIA, Tiffany Gem Labs, and an AGS "0" according to the charts at OctoNus. It scored a 1.3 on HCA. The numbers back up what the eye sees. The diamond is amazing. I am not a good photographer at all. The sapphires are that color in real life. An independent appraiser graded them GIA B 6/6. And he is a Master GG.

That''s nice of you to say. :-) It''s more simple than a lot of rings. It''s just in the end the stones that speak for the ring. Nothing flashy about it. Just the stones by themselves in a very simple setting. But they are so beautiful that it works. Some final shots.

You can see how simple the setting is in that last one. The diamond looks red in this one; the camera again.

Sorry my post was confusing. I thought you had mentioned before some apprehension about the stone because it was a 60/60. My point was that numbers aside, it''s gorgeous! Those sapphires are amazing!

Thanks Blackpaw. I like sapphires that are kashmir blue in color. When they are lighter than that, I don''t like them that much. These have a very nice kashmir blue. They aren''t inky. I think that without them it would look like any other three stone ring. They make it come alive. Thanks for your compliments and I will pass them along.

Hi Jill! Thank you for clarifying what you were referring to. I was like, "Huh? How can it be better numbers?" But I remember what you are talking about. Dreamer D was the one who mentioned it was a 60/60 diamond and thus different than a typical ideal. I had no idea what that meant, so I searched "60/60" on here and found a lot of very vociferous arguments between diamond cutters and experts about the beauty of 60/60 stones and/or the capability of a 60/60 to be "ideal" or AGS "0". I found out that since 2008 AGS and GIA have both found that such a combination is in fact capable of reaching "ideal" or "0", but it isn''t very common. I am not sure if it is because cutters want to stay under 57 for "ideal" (since that is the generally accepted limit), or if it is just so much harder to cut a 60/60 diamond to an "ideal" standard. However, what became clear after educating ourselves on it and plugging in the numbers, talking to an independent appraiser Master GG, and frankly (perhaps most importantly using our eyes) that this stone has great optical symmetry. It''s a very beautiful diamond and very unique. The other thing that I thought was interesting is that while Tiffany graded its color to be H, VS2, the appraiser graded it G, VS1. And even after she told him what the Tiffany grade was, he said he stood by his assessment. One thing that''s pretty cool about Tiffany is they will always go down a grade if it''s even questionable. You never have to worry about getting a grade that isn''t provably true. So she has an ideal diamond that is at least H, VS2 and probably G, VS1. Good for her. She certainly paid enough for it. :-) Thanks again for your nice post and compliments. :-)

Yeah, the appraiser''s pictures didn''t really do the saphs justice. Thanks!

I LOVE everything about that ring -- if my funds were unlimited when I got engaged, that''s the exact ring i would have picked
