TLDR; Almost purchased an average XXX GIA from a local jeweler. Was point to HPD by this forum and couldn't be happier with my experience. If you're in the market, don't think twice about choosing HPD for your diamond. They have amazing stones that you'll be forever happy with.

Purchasing my diamond through Hight Performance Diamonds (HPD) has been nothing but a pleasant experience.

I spent 3 weeks with local jewelers in the jewelry district of downtown LA and almost purchased an inferior diamond but backed out of the sale last minute after reading a lot of information on this forum. After learning about all the measurements of the diamond and what to look for, I tried the local jewelers again but couldn't find anything that was perfect. Thats when I expanded my search to online retailers.

I never thought I would ever buy a diamond online but once I reached out to HPD, I realized that I had probably found the right place to purchase my diamond. @LaylaR was extremely helpful. She provided me with tons of information that checked out compared to the inconsistent information I was getting from my local jewelers. I was still hesitant on pulling the trigger so she sent the 3 diamond that fit my criteria to a local jeweler where I would be able to see them in person. After seeing these stones, I was much more comfortable with HPD but I was still on the fence on paying a premium compared to my local jewelers. I was still under the impression that I might find a perfect super ideal cut diamond with the local jewelers for cheaper.

Layla was kind enough to setup a phone call with John Pollard from Crafted By Infinity (CBI). John explained a lot of things to me about the diamond industry, how the rough stones are chosen, who they purchase from, why they purchase from certain places. We discussed the different organizations that grade diamonds, how they all differ and why a XXX rated stone from GIA doesn't necessarily mean you've found the right one. We discussed the different types of inclusions, color and next thing I knew, we were on the phone for an hour. Speaking with John was a great pleasure.

With all this information, I decided to sleep on it and make a decision the following morning. I woke up and decided that the CBI diamond from HPD would be the smartest choice. It was hard not going with a CBI diamond because I would have to go to bed every night knowing that I passed on buying a better cut diamond.

Once I told Layla I was ready to purchase, I had the stone in my hand in 2 days. She was always around to answer all my questions during all hours of the day and night. I had communication with her during 2am, 9am, 2pm, 8pm, etc. I'm actually not sure when she has time to sleep. =)

HPD went above and beyond what any other retailer was willing to do. Their policies are just the icing on the cake for me, with 21 day returns, lifetime upgrades with 100% of the value of your original purchase and lifetime buy back at 80% of the value of the stone, it makes buying from HPD that much more appealing.

Thank you to CBI and HPD for providing the perfect stone for my budget that I'll be happy with forever. I ended up purchasing a 1.65ct I color VS2 diamond.

This is my other thread that I started towards the tail end of my diamond search. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/need-help-picking-the-right-stone.249666/

Nice, so your stone potentially originated from one of Alrosa’s mines. Good to see that CBI is doing work on improving traceability of rough through to finished product!

The team at HPD and the diamonds from CBI are the best in the business in my opinion too! Congratulations on your awesome diamond!

Cool we want lots of photos when you get it!!!
