so i cant run out and buy a diamond from one of our PS vendors to help out but i can start a new thread @Karl_K
i know the pearl forum has been a bit slow of late

please feel welcome to post pearl gifts you have given -no limit to cost .....hmmm i know a very lucky little sister who lives across the ditch @mellowyellowgirl who gets the most droll worthy gifts from her wonderful and generous sister

anyway so on moving to a new town (7 or 8 years ago) the older you get the harder it is to make new friends
i work next to a neighbourhod grocery store that is a NZ post agency and the lovely NZ post courier collects the mail at 5pm and if she saw me she would drop me down the hill at the bus stop
turns out she lives a bit further along the road from me so for the last couple of months she's bee giving me a ride home
we collect mail from one box in town at the bottom of the hill, do a pick up from the vap shop if she has outgoing and them we go to the depo for the mail to catch the 5.30pm truck to Palmerston North to be sorted

anyway my friend has a beautiful diamond wedding set that sparkles in the sun and she matches her fun temu earrings to her hair ties
a necklace would not be practcile for her work with all the lifting of heavy mail bags and parcels but then i dont wear earrings at work for a similar kind of reason

i recently discovered these really cute (cheap) 7-8,, white baroque rice freshwater Akoya's from my lady Wen in China
they come strung on a stretchy bracelet in a two pack - i buy 2 packs at a time and its easy to pick out nice ones
they are only her AA grade but they are actually quite nice, certainly no worse than the pearls down the mall jeweller

so im making Wendy a nice necklace
ive had a lot of fun choosing the adornments for it
my friend is a fun lady about my age and i want it to have a central element -something floral
i found the near perfect thing ( wasnt crazy that it had a little 'stone' thingy that might fall out ) But i really loved this and its subtle colour

but dang now its out of stock
so im i might go with this

i already have the cute little clasp that arrived yesterday

its a bit more dainty that the rather agracultural one the jewller makes for me because im a little less dextoris than most it would seem
i also thought i might get the jeweller to put some chain with biggest links at the end of the strand as im not sure what lengths she prefers
and i got the sweet little W charm to add onto the central element
it was a W and not an A, i just cant get the attachment to load

i dont usually use the word cute here on PC because cute seems to mean small,
these elements are all small so ill use cute now

-although if the pink cherry becomes available before i get the other bits to the jeweller i'd still go with it

HI:

How sweet! And thoughtful. Lighting a lamp for others lights your pathway as well.

Cant wait to see the finished gift!

cheers--Sharon

Oooh this is going to be pretty!

I must confess with Gary being do sick it's giving the pink cherry bloom on time to come back into stock

So Gary h as been very seriously ill in CCU in hospital
Right now he is in surgery . Thank you PS for something to do
On etsy it said I had had a parcel delivery fail
In the letter box I found a wet soggy card from the 7th saying I wasn't home
Poor Gary would have been in agony but he had managed to get himself back into bed on Friday and Saturday he was home alone while I was at work
Anyway anyway my friend whom this necklace is for who is a nz post courier found my package and its in the letter box
It's some turquoise. The mooshed up kind
I'm gluing them to a beltl

Oh @Daisys and Diamonds I will say a prayer for Gary right now. Hope all will go smoothly. Sending you my hugs from Singapore. I am back, and it is a vey bright blue day. I am trying to pretend I am still in France. This is a chapel built by the French missionaries in Singapore, in the 1800s. It was the site of the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus sisters, and the girls’ school and orphanage that they ran.IMG_5488.jpeg
