This is my first gemstone that I have set.

Here is the link to the pics of the stone.

I posted about getting my setting from InterGem here

So I put some of the pics in powerpoint. I read about that in another thread. Not sure I like the sizing.

Pardon the broken and rough nails. I spent the weekend out of town with my horse. I also forgot to clean the stone! But I''m too tired to take any more pics.

I really am happy with how this turned out. Please notice that the bottom of the stone is covered. I took pics of that. Not sure how well I like that. Mostly for cleaning purposes. The jeweler said he could drill that out. However, the color of the stone is enhanced by that. So for now I left it. I''d like opinions on that.

I''m still not so hot at taking pics. This was more about showing off the setting than the color of the stone. The color changes in certain lighting, but I can''t get my camera to focus on the ring in all types of lighting. So I went the easy route for these pics.

I get a lot of compliments on the round stone in the square halo. People seem to really find that interesting.

That''s all I took! I don''t know that I got the best diamonds or the best deal. But I really am pretty proud with how it turned out. It was a definite learning experience! I still don''t quite "get" how to tell for sure a stone will fit in a setting if it looks a little tight. I posted about that, but didn''t get any replies. So I''m still learning. But I had so much fun with this one. And it really sparkles like a disco ball in any kind of decent lighting.

I don''t know if you can find the setting. I got it at the InterGem show that came to town. The vendor''s name was Golden Gate Jewelry. The card says the website is www.goldengatejewelry.com but I don''t see a working site at that address. I have phone numbers on the card, but no email. Is it a top of the line setting? No. Is it LOGR quality. I don''t have an LOGR setting to compare, but I got this setting cheaper than any LOGR setting that I liked. So I was happy about that. My jeweler said it was pretty well made. He warned me again pave, but I knew the risk with that going in. This ring won''t be an everyday ring mostly because of the color of the stone. I don''t wear a ton of green.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I was wondering what everything thought about the covered bottom? Anyone have a ring like that? I''m still pretty concerned about that.

I was actually going to mention something about the covered bottom. I think for a light stone, this is fine. It acts like a bezel and deepens the color a little bit. I think the color of your stone looks even better in the setting.
