Mothers Day Gift- HELP!

I am recently engaged and my mother loves my ring. My mother has not been able to wear her engagement ring due to damage and which I never seen her ring. She shows me the ring and it has a HUGE flaw that it very visible and her diamond is very small. She asked me to do some research so get a new setting. SO I did and it would be cheaper to buy a better quality diamond.

My mother is a stay at home mother which I think she deserves something wonderful this mothers day.

So heres the question should I buy my mom a "engagement ring" with a diamond setting or a SAPPHIRE set with a sapphire in the middle and diamonds on the side and a matching wedding band? Please Help!

I think a sapphire with diamond side stones would be better gift from a child. She will LOVE it and it''s a very sweet and generous gift.

I agree that it wouldn''t really be appropriate for a child to give their mother a wedding set. However, it would be totally fine to help your Dad pick one out to give her! If you give her a ring, I think a right hand ring would be a wonderful idea!

Thank you ladies for your comments, however my father would ask me the day of mothers day "what should I get your mother?" As of right now she wears a cz on her engagement finger. I want it to be appropriate and something she will love.

That looks pretty! I guess I am just traditional in that I would only wear engagement/wedding rings on my left ring finger. If my children gave me a ring, I would wear it on my right hand. But she can certainly wear it wherever she prefers! If it were me, I''d ask my Dad if he wanted some help getting her some new rings. But that might be better for their anniversary as opposed to Mother''s Day.

I guess I could buy her a ring and she can wear it where ever she wants

I am thinking on mentioning to my father about to see if the old engagement ring can be repaired or buy her some nice new rings

The Sapphire on this ring is a 1/3 carat. Some reason I seem to think she would like this one more. This and the ring above are around the same price. Does anyone else like this one? I have to make a decision today so it will be here on time.
