Omg ring twins besides mine is white gold! It came out beautiful.
The stone will look cloudy if they don’t have quality cameras. The ACC is hard to capture in pictures
That is very reassuring to hear!

I received three more pictures. I can tell by her messages she really wants to send it out. I would greatly appreciate another set of eyes to give it a final once over.

Looking at these new pictures, I don’t see anything wrong at all. Prongs look good and straight, stone looks good. The setting itself is beautiful. You’ll barely notice the prongs once you see it in person. I think they did a really good job.

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_165e.jpg These are my 2 carat DEW earrings that I'll be receiving from Starsgem :). They're 6.5mm H&A DEF mounted in 14K WG 4 prong baskets, which is exactly what I wanted, and a duplicate of how my real diamonds are mounted.
Thanks to everyone for sharing their pictures of moissanite stones. Those pictures, (plus the price), made it an easy decision to try moissanite :).
If anyone sees a problem with the quality, please let me know. I was happy with the video, and I'll be putting my real diamonds in a safety deposit box and wearing these!

@swaye2010 or @lovedogs if you have a chance to look let me know- I'm so frustrated right now. I okay'd the stone, but in the setting it just looks plastic, and nothing like the pictures I sent :(sad I haven't responded Demi yet because I'm already disappointed; the stone is so far off from the pictures I sent them! I think they nailed the setting, but the stone just looks wrong to me and I can't get over it...
Help

I appreciate your feedback. To be fair, the pictures of your stones were bad too, but your stones were beautiful. I really wish they would invest in better cameras- my orders from Tianyu have always included really sharp, accurate pictures of what I’m receiving.

Yup, the pic of mine was a hot mess!!! I got video, but even that didn't show faceting well and I had to hope it was better IRL.

The cut that they do will look like the pattern of the AV stone but they don’t have that little sideways bow tie effect like the AV stone. They just do the long, thin culet on their cut like every other vendor does. That is very specific to AV and it doesn’t seem like something they can replicate. It has something to do with the faceting on the back.

The pictures suck but I do think it will look better in person. I was waiting for Cherry to get back from Vegas in the next few days so I can write to her. We need to have videos that are at least 15 second’s instead of 3 second’s and pictures that can focus on a stone. I mean my iPhone 10S does a pretty good job with the better camera and they do make them there so I would think most people have one by now!

I hope it will be better when it gets here.
We do need decent videos, and pictures. At this point, I would hesitate to use them again because it’s been so nerve racking to try to make heads or tails of the pictures they’ve provided. I can tell my rep is doing the best she can, and even the language barrier isn’t too bad, but the photos o_O

HELP ! I got my cad for my pear halo but it looks nothing like what I asked and for lab diamonds aren’t what I asked I asked for the halo lab diamonds to be 2mm and the side stones to be 2.3mm and total shank of the width to be 2.5mm... it’s nothing what I asked and I’m having a hard time trying to explain... not sure what to do. Demi just told me they can’t go according to what I wanted with the 2mm Lab diamonds for the halo? ‍♀️ but that’s what I got quoted for

UPDATE

Ok I got some feedback from some bees on wedding bee and spoke to Demi with another but very similar photo inspo so hopefully the 2nd cad comes out as planned

I’m working with Demi on my wedding band, but I’m not well versed in stone sizing so I’m not sure if the CAD is close to my inspiration band by Marrow Fine. I’m going to request they bump up the thickness of the band to 2mm after any polishing. I’m just hoping the stones aren’t too small? I have no idea what I’m doing so any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Not the best pics but they managed to carve out the inside of the setting and drop the height waaaaay down. Looks much more wearable now. I guess that means the 9x8 chubby ACC I just bought will be going up on LT pretty soon....

Wow looks soooo good! That’s so cool that they were able to carve it down to make it lower!! Do you have a photo of you wearing it? Would love to see a before and after hand pics since they lowered it! It’s a beautiful ring!!
Did you end up selling your 9x8 Chubby ACC yet?

I haven’t gotten it back yet but it should be soon. He is sizing an eternity band for me, which he hates doing but I am a good customer! The ACC will come back with the other 2 rings and then I will throw it up on LT & DB.

Do you have a link for your inspiration photo so I can take a look at the stone sizes?

Here you go, see below. And these are also the specs of the stones Demi suggested:

EF color trapeziod : 5x3x2mm 1pcs
EF color marquise: 2x4mm 2pcs
EF color round: 1.8mm 2pcs
EF color round: 1.5mm 2pcs

It looks very close to the inspiration picture so I am sure you will be fine. It says it was made to go with a 1 carat solitaire but goes with other shapes as well.

I made a couple tweaks to the CAD and Demi sent me photos of the stones on her finger to help give me an idea of their size. I agree in that it looks close to the inspiration. I believe my engagement ring is a solitaire so they should work nicely together although my stone is half carat. After more thought today I figured it’s not a pricey piece and it’d be okay. This is the final CAD that I signed off on.

Good news! I got my ring!
Bad news! I’m almost as bad at taking pictures as they are...
Without further ado, here it is:
E18B6DA7-F9FD-4127-A88D-CB7E5094E6F7.jpeg EBE97711-974A-4FE9-8052-5EBF6EA4E3C9.jpeg 8CB7AFC4-CD3A-461E-99BE-91DDCF35F725.jpeg
6710291C-3E48-442A-B232-8AD6E7273A7E.jpeg
It’s 14k rose gold with a colorless 9 x 7.5 antique cushion. My diamond AVR is a R, and I actually really like warm antique cuts, so the whiteness of this stone takes some getting used to- not in a bad way, it has a mirror effect that’s quite pretty.
The actual setting is so much better than I expected! Decent weight, bright white diamonds (I paid extra for the lab diamonds), no rough spots. I’d use them again just for a setting frankly.
The whole purchase was an average experience. My rep was kind, and helpful, even the language barrier wasn’t bad. What was hard was the first stone they had cut for me looked nothing like the pics I sent, and their photos were so poor that I didn’t feel like I could judge the quality of the stone or ring before receiving it.
I would order again, but only a “copy cat” ring or stone that one of our other board members had really nailed.

That looks fantastic! I am happy to see you went with the lab diamonds. As you said, for that price alone, just having the pave setting made with the lab diamonds makes it worth it. It is a great way to get an affordable diamond setting even if you want to put a gemstone or lab diamond at a future date.

Can you please post a video of your ring? It would be so interesting to see the diamond sidestones and compare with moissanite.

Just here to post my cads for my pear halo and matching band. I purposely wanted my band to be slightly thicker. Both rings will have Lab diamonds! Super excited to see them!

Here you go! In sunshine and shade
I spoke to Cherry last night about the pictures and the video quality. I asked that they start sending at least a 15 second video so that we have time to evaluate the stones and setting. I think this would save them time in the long run by not having to go back and answer extra questions or remake settings. I also sent her the pictures of what you received from them and what your IRL picture actually looked like. Their pictures were showing the stone too milky and the videos of the rings on the turntable were just not working for people. She understood and hopefully this will help people going forward.

Great! If the pictures were accurate I’d be more comfortable ordering again. I agree a lot of worries and questions and time goes into just trying to reassure their customers that everything is right with their order.

I received my new lowered setting and it is so much more wearable now. Was admiring the sparkle at the hair salon. My poor jeweler was again tasked with making another eternity band larger as it was my original from my wedding set many years ago. Can’t even tell anything was done to it.

I decided to also match the black rhodium plating and they look like they were made to go together.
