Minor upgrade

I'm with SimoneDi on waiting as well... I'm sorry you don't love your new diamond.

BGD tends to do a black friday deal- given the tint is not obvious and you've just upgraded it, I'd say hang onto it for the next 2 months till after your wedding, then have everything ready to go when that deal goes live. Enjoy this ring for a little while first :) Sometimes you need time to learn how your stone behaves!

I'm curious though- how do you like the stone with fluoro in bright aussie sunlight? does it bother you? I remember you were a bit hesitant about it at first
In the bright light it alternates between looking bright white and having a slightly luminous blue tinged glow. I'm not sold on the glow but I don't know that anyone who doesn't know about fluorescence would even notice it.

Blue glow quite evident here though!IMG_1780.JPG

2 mins later, glow no longer evident.IMG_1784.JPG

Ignore the lipstick swatches on my hand

You are quite right, I had been looking at it in my office and I was sure that I would need to change it. I leave the office and out in natural light it looks wonderful  I think my problem also is stopping to breathe and think before rushing into investigating my options and thinking the sky is falling.

The good news is I have adjusted to the height and am happy with that now!

A colleague of mine has a D colored stone and I would have bet that it was an F color based on office lighting (it is not flattering at all!) please try to enjoy your pretty new stone for a little bit! It really looks wonderful on you ;) there will always be diamonds out there ;) Happy upcoming wedding!

I think it looks beautiful on you for what it's worth :)
Enjoy your new sparkly ring- there's plenty of time to decide if you want to upgrade it!

I may be talking to myself at this point, but that's ok. Video I took with a ring that belonged to DF grandma...I was wondering how this colour would compare to other diamonds and lamenting that I had none to compare it to (except for the melee in the WB which doesn't count), then remembered this ring. Hopefully this works, I've never used google drive before. I have no idea what colour hers is but I've never thought it was overly tinted before.

To my eyes your BGD looks much whiter.
Whatever diamond you end up with I hope you enjoy it. To have a stone you love and look forward to wearing everyday is just awesome :geek2:

Your BGD stone looks whiter to me too!
Having said that, you Grandma's stone is set in yellow gold which may impact how hers appears a bit.
Your stone looks gorgeous- I hope you're enjoying it!

I think your stone is beautiful and looks really white - I love the blue glow in the sun btw.

At home or in filtered light it is very pretty. I love that it it sometimes reflects pinks and blues, my L had light flashes but usually white or neon yellow/green etc. It's just being able to get past inclusions (I mainly see them as specs in photos that make the stone look dirty) and the blue glow in sunlight. I don't urgently need to change it and once I stop taking photos of it I might forget about the inclusions. For now I am loving wearing it and staring at it a lot! Maybe I should just not wear it to the office where it seems to look tinted

I keep getting fluff caught under the prongs. Sending it back and forth to be tightened is not logistically feasible. Can I trust a local jeweller with this?

Shellcm, can I ask for some advice on the whole fedex/shipping thing?

I have a pendant which I purchased and unfortunately, the seller did not notice that the requested cup had not been added. They are happy for me to send it back and put it in etc.

My concern is fedex and customs (as always). I tried calling them up earlier to see whether I could get a clear answer- given my item is NOT an upgrade, it is literally a 'repair' with NO 'new parts' which haven't already been paid for on the original import taxes (the item just wasn't as described!!!) they are still insisting that I will likely have to pay taxes for the thing.

I am pulling out my hair trying to talk to these people- and it happens every single time!! I feel like I'm talking to robotic paper pushers who can only read out a prescribed list of answers to any question. It drives me insane!!!!

Do you have any contacts/advice on how to get this done, as I REALLY don't feel that I should have to pay hundreds of tax dollars AGAIN on exactly the same item? Who did you end up speaking to to sort this out? In my experience, half the time they threaten to send my items back if I don't pay immediately (and this is with just trying to sort out the bloody AUSFTA part) and half the time I call about 30x and their lines just cut out on me...

I'm really sorry - I only just saw this. I don't know who I spoke to sorry - I did 'dispute' their attempt to collect GST again and that resulted in someone calling me back and saying they were only charging based on the upgraded value. Based on my experience I wouldn't expect you to be charged again (though it could be delayed for a few days while it is being sorted out) as all they needed to see were invoices from the initial purchase and proof from the seller that it was returned and repaired. Good luck. It's so stressful isn't it.
