In August, I got my new cushion cut ring that I love but there is a problem.....the stones get loose and I''ve even lost a small diamond out of my wedding band already. The jeweler suggested that I get it checked ~4months. I really am nervous and not satisfied with having a high maintanence ring and am thinking of getting them reset. To top it off, last night at my girls'' swim meet I was sitting with 3 other moms with similar rings who share the same problem!

I was just wondering if any of you with your esteemed knowledge and advice could pass on past experience with this issue!

Thanks!
Jenny

pave is very popular right now. unfortunately, loosing a stone now and than is common and goes with the territory. Pave rings really have to be babied and are not intended to be worn 24/7. if you are loosing a bunch of stones though that shoudn't be happening either and it may be a quality issue. there is a huge range of pave quality. Leon mege has this article that might help explain the setting process.

and here was a discussion here on PS about pave and losing stones:

I agree with everything MrsS said. There is SO little metal holding each little stone so it is only a matter of time one will fall out (or more). We have seen this issue with every designer (or most). They are beautiful but need to be treated gently. Hopefully your jeweler will replace them for free.
