Thank you! That’s really helpful clarification. So the “metallic” nomenclature is intended to be an adjective - some FW are and some aren’t, including Edisons.

Are all Edison pearls actually produced by Grace Pearl? Or is the word “Edison” like “Kleenex” now - used colloquially for any bead-nucleated (singly-implanted?) FW?

Edison is the name of the company which produces edison pearls. Grace pearl doesn't exist any more
generic bead nucleated pearls can be called Ming pearls. Or Bead nucleated freshwater cultured pearls. If you want to be pedantic. Some sellers call all BNFCP edison pearls, but that is not a correct description.
