Chunky is a very elegant, refined little lady -- Euro 0.45ct I I1 (feather), 4.8-4.95mm

Lopsy is... well, adorably lopsided

-- Trans 0.47ct I SI1, 4.7-4.9mm

They do make such a cute couple

They'll be studs since I cannibalised my old pair for my ring. The question is, do I go with teeny tiny wg milgrain bezels or romantically swoon-worthy 8-prong martinis in rg?

Bezels:
Pros - incredibly delicate, seems to fit the antiquey-ness of the stones better
Cons - Lopsy is already lopsided, I don't know that I want a bezel that will highlight that... I don't think these stones are cut for light return so they'd have to have open backs. Not reusable, more expensive.

Martinis:
Pros - I've completely fallen for these 8-prongs - they're like flowers! Let more light into the pavilion, cheaper, reusable. I'd definitely want rose gold.
Cons - rg will highlight the yellow tint - not that I really care, though. Too modern for older stones?

Oh wow oh wow oh wow!

They're fantastic yssie, what a gorgeous pair of studs they will make. I'd go with delicate milgraine bezels if they were for me, but really you couldn't go wrong with 8 prongs either. Both gorgeous with older cuts.

Enjoy them!

ETA I really like your photos, too.

Jen

and last for now

Thank you!

Bezels were my first thought.. I''m worried that they''ll make Lopsy look even more lopsided, but maybe that doesn''t matter? My original plan was to reuse my old 3prong martinis but after seeing the stones - well, that just won''t work at all

Thanks Sparkly, I''m a convert!

Can you link an example of the miligrain bezel?

Hmm. Like bagpuss'' three-stone, only - not a ring:

Gorgeous!

Milgrain bezels all the way. Like Deco''s from BGD!!

Anyone who knows me on here knows I am obsessed with milgrained bezels so I think that would be perfect for your BEAUTIFUL stones.

Thanks, dreamer and Tacori!

Deco''s were the first ones I thought of too - they''re so gorgous! I don''t have any pics saved to my hard drive or I would''ve linked hers

Everyone seems to be of one mind.

I love them Yssie!

Either setting will be gorgeous, but I would go with the milgrain bezels!

forgot to add, where did you get your new old stones:-)

Thanks Bella

They''re from mlopros.

They''re beautiful yssie!

I think either a milgrain bezel or an 8 prong would look great--you really can''t go wrong.

Great find! My vote is for milgrain bezels as well. While I like the 8-prong, I would go for those if the stones were a little bigger. Were they sold to you as a pair, or did you find them separately? Awesome find!

Lovely stones.

Wahoooo Yssie! Those babies are adorable! Congrats!

Gasp! Yssie, those are just beautiful. I also think Deco''s bezel milgrain studs are amazing ~ that setting would really flatter your new stones. What a fun project!
