Measurements of AVCs

Hi everyone,

I just read in another thread that some non-round diamond measurements are given as Length x Width x Depth and others use the longest Diagonal x Width x Depth.

This had never occurred to me and I've never seen it mentioned before, but it got me worried. I've been lusting after an AVC and now I wonder if they are using the Diagonal measurement method - and if the diamonds are actually smaller than I had assumed.

Eg: On the AVC website the measurements for an example diamond are given as 5.46 - 5.79 x 3.62, which might indicate a 'range'. Whereas on the corresponding AGS certificate they are 5.46 x 5.79 x 3.62, which sounds more like discrete L x W x D measurements.

Can anyone shed any light on this and is it anything to be worried about? AVCs are already considerably more expensive than non-branded cushions, I know I'm paying more for the ideal cut, good light return etc, but are they also going to be smaller?!

I’ve noticed a few grammatical and spelling errors on their website (plus broken links). I’m guessing they put most of their resources into their product and less into the perfection of their website.

I would go by whatever the AGS certificate says.

The AV Cushion in particular doesn't use the diagonal corner to corner measurements.
