Does anyone have a picture of a marquise eternity band worn with a shared prong engagement ring? It seems like a rare combination, but I would love to see if anyone can spare some thoughts on whether a marquise band can go with the round diamonds. Attached is a picture of a band that I found on this website that I am referring to. Thanks in advance!

HI:

Sorry, can''t help with pics--but speaking of pictures, where did that band come from? It is gorgeous--I''d love one like that!

cheers--Sharon

Has anyone heard of that vendor? How do you know what to check to see if you are getting good value for the price? I have no clue how to do online shopping for big items like this...

That is a really unique style! I have never seen it before, but it''s very pretty. I like it alot!

I posted this over in tyty333''s thread (Link) but I''ll repost here. I found a cast of the band on Adwar, so if you''re really interested, you could get into contact with WF (or another custom jeweler) and they could quote you a price to make the band, if you don''t want to go with the pompeii one.

Here''s the link to the adwar cast: http://www.adwar.com/products/styles/W2280/view The style# is W2280.

And a pic:

Ooooh I like that! But unfortunately, no, I don''t have one. Maybe I''ll put one on my list of "someday"s.

gekodani - Thanks for your insight. I''m still new to this whole thing so I am not sure what you are inferring with the cast. I would purchase the cast and then ask Whiteflash to put in the stones? Or just show Whiteflash and they would be able to reproduce the product?

I can''t help you either, but that is one beautiful band!

I''ve purchased from Pompeii. Great prices, however, the diamonds are small and kind of cloudy on the majority of rings I''ve seen posted by other buyers. This one is pretty too!

Adwar doesn''t sell to the public, so you''d need to go through a jeweler. What you''d do would be to contact someone at Whiteflash (There is a contact section on the website at http://www.whiteflash.com/whiteflash_contact/) and ask them for a custom quote. Give them the adwar cast number, and what metal you''d prefer, and let them know you want it made with diamonds etc. Whiteflash would purchase the cast from Adwar, and place the stones in it. This is often more cost effective than having someone create a custom piece for you. I had them make me a bezel band with an adwar cast, and it turned out beautifully!

I don''t have a marquise band, but the shape of my band mimicks the shape of a marquise band. I think the reason it works is because of my halo, but nonetheless, i''ll attach a picture. I think it''s a beautiful combo, if I say so myself. Haha. If you have a shared prong, I think this would look great! Non matching sets usually look the best when they compliment eachother in some way (milgraining, etc.).

wow I love that set!

cellososweet - Can you post a closer view of your beautiful band? I''m still in the beginning learning stages, so I can''t really tell what is different.

I''m not sure if I can pull off the nonmatchy bands? I have a shared prong engagement ring and a matching shared prong eternity ring as my wedding band at the moment. I don''t have milgraining or something of the sort that will connect the two themes nor do I have a halo. Would that seem weird?

Also, the reason why I don''t like to wear the matching engagement ring/wedding band together is because it looks strange on me even though everyone else''s eternity sets on PS looks great! I guess perhaps my diamonds are much smaller and the metal holding the diamonds are not aligned and are staggered. So when I wear both bands together, I feel like all I see is a whole bunch of metal. I think my engagement ring looks better by itself but I would like to find a wedding band that I enjoy with it. Help and insight is very much appreciated!

I love that marquise band! Marquise goodness!

I''d stay away from Pompeii. I purchased a diamond band from them last year, 3 stones were gray

no kidding, as for returns.....two stores/ different states, only one location sells on ebay, the other takes all returns, my pkg was lost for 7 weeks.

Honestly, before you make a decision, go out and try on a bajillion bands - you might be surprised by what you like!

I don''t think I''ve actually seen a marquise eternity band on PS (unless anchor31''s is? I don''t remember!). I seriously considered one, though set in bezels, for my wedding band. I love the look!

If you end up getting one, please post pics

Me, too!

you guys are too sweet. I don''t want to thread-jack, so i''ll post one. It''s incredibly difficult to get a close-up of my band because the diamonds are teeny tiny and look more dull and more dull the closer you get. But it sparkles like mad in real life. As I said, I think that my non-matchy set works because it has the same element. My engagement ring has a halo (detail around the larger stone) and my wedding band has milgraining (detail around the stones). So, I think that''s why it works. Of all of the other non-matchy sets I''ve seen, those that tie something together usually look the best. If you have a simple setting (a round stone with prongs), a band with prongs (regardless of stone shape) will probably look best for a non-matchy look. Or a band with rounds but a different type of layout (channel band with a shared prong ring looks good when they are both the same type of stone). This is just my preference. An opinion is all :-)

By the way, this is the third band i''m on. My original channel set was eating the basket, then I had two plain bands loved it but missed the bling. I think I found a keeper this time :-)

Cheers!
